I did it!!!! I took my last final this morning. I am graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology tomorrow. I have been in college for 5 years. I had my son two years ago, I never left, I went full time even the semester I had him. This semester, I wanted to get it done, so I took all of the classes I had left, all at once. I took 19 credit hours, was a full time mommy, a full time yorkie mommy, worked 20 hours a week, and planned my wedding. I escaped this semester with 2 A's, 3 B's, and 2 C's. Graduation tomorrow is going to taste very sweet. And then two months, and then my wedding! I can't believe I survived this semester. I want to look at everyone who said I couldn't do it and I was taking on too much and be like... "what was that? see ya!" |
YAY FOR YOU!!! i just graduated too with a BA in Visual Arts.. how great does it feel eh?? all that work and DONE DONE DONE!! go PAARRRRTTTTYY.. haha. a HUGE congrats to you!!! |

Wow! My hats off to ya!!! What an accomplishment! You really do have a full plate and alot to be proud of! When your children are older you'll have great stories to tell them.... I know I'll be sitting my 11 year old down tonight to have her read this thread with me tonight! She and I read alot of stories about women acheving greatness. Thanks! You guys are awesome! Kathryn - you made my day, glad I can be such an inspiration! The ceremony went well - I didn't fall and they pronounced my name right so I'd say it was a success lol. It was long and boring, but hey, it's over! I'm so proud! It feels nice to be sitting at home when normally at this time I'd be in class haha. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing career wise yet, a bachelor's doesn't get you very far in psychology. I have applied for a Community Support Worker position about 45 minutes south of here, I'd be doing case management and interviews with adolescents recovering from substance abuse, which is right up my alley. I said going into my major I wanted to work with troubled adolescents. :D Wish me luck! I'm also doing the FEMA's training courses for working with disaster victims - I'd love to do that sometime and the extra training looks good on a resume. I took disaster psychology this semester and it's the only course of it's kind offered to undergrads anywhere in the nation - it's a good prep course for FEMA's training. I'm excited - I have some options! Thanks again girls for all your kind words! |
