| Looking For......Can Anyone Help? Can anyone help me??? (PLEASE) I am looking for a place to buy this or one to buy, if anyone has one...... It is a Dress Form. It doesn't have to look exactly like this, but needs to be somewhat tall. This one is one a painted metal stand, but that doesn't really matter (any stand would do). I do not have measurements for it, just that this one is 65" tall. The "body" is fabric (cushiony), but I have seen them made of wood, plastic, etc. OR.....maybe even a female mannequin? I don't know.......we need something that she can test out and fit the clothing that she makes. Does anyone have one, can make one (or can tell me how to make one) or know where I could get one? Thanks! PS........for those curious: my daughter is into fashion and desperately needs one.....we have been looking for a long time and haven't found anything, so I thought I would ask my YT family. scan0001.jpg

| Do you have craigslist? You might also check with your local fabric store and/or seemstress place.

| don't the sell them at fabric stores? I know I've seen them. Usually they are adjustable in size so you can adjust it to the measurements of whomever you are making a dress for. I found this site. http://www.manne-king.com/dressforms.cfm |

| Thanks so much......I'm checking out that site now. We found one, but they didn't want to sale it (it was at an antique male). AND we found the top portion (torso) of a male mannequin at a "flea market" for only $15 (which we could have added it on a stand), but my daughter needs a female and we didn't think there would be anyway to turn the hard plastic male torso into a female! I have checked fabric places (we have Hancocks) and craft places (like Michaels and Hobby Lobby).......I will keep checking......... The picture we have is from PotteryBarn for Teens, but it is over $200....so we were hoping to find something cheaper.

| Specialty sewing machine stores should sell them - I know my mom got hers years ago from one - it actually has dials and things to adjust the size/dimensions of the mannequin for different sized ladies, it's pretty neat. Also, did you check E-bay? I took a quick look and found this - I'm sure you could find more though... not sure how much you're looking to spend, but they are quite costly. http://cgi.ebay.com/2-x-Female-Manne...em330027339290 Good luck! Your daughter is quite talented- I saw your other post and the shirt she made!

| Look at these I wanted to show what I found when looking for a dress form - these are "do-it-yourself" ones....what do you all think? Course, I already bought one off eBay......darn, these look fun to make! A duct-tape dress form is quick, cheap, and simple. You'll need a couple of 60-ft. rolls of duct tape, a long tee shirt, and a little plastic wrap. Oh, yes, and someone to wrap you in tape. Make a 3-D version of yourself. Whether you opt for a quick and easy tape dress form or a more involved papier-mâché form, the end result will be clothes that really fit. dress2.jpg dress1.jpg
