| cancer hits close to home again I posted a thread not long ago that cancer surrounds me and once again bam someone close to me has it. I just lost two friends in the past month from cancer, my BIL has rectal cancer, and now just found out my one and only first cousin Steven has lympoma (sp?) he has a huge mass in his abdomen that they don't seem to have plans on operating on. He has a bunch more tests scheduled to determine what type and what stage. He is 53, his only brother Robert died about 14 years ago at age 40 of brain cancer. I feel really bad for my Aunt and Uncle, they are in the 80's and my uncle has had so many problems this past year with blood clots and now this with Steven. I think it makes it worse that they went through this before with his brother. Once again Cancer SUCKS

I think at some point in every ones life, they know someone who has been affected with some form of cancer! I have lost a niece to a brain tumor and have a brother and father with cancer. They are both fighting a slow progressing lymphoma right now. My brother had testical cancer in his thirties and now has lymphoma from the chemo drugs!
