Would you euthanize An entire litter of chihuahua newborns who came out missing their front legs? I'm att my boyfriend's friends house, and some guy here iis saying his momm let their chihuahuas (father and daughter) mate. They bred them with no breeding knowledge then were surprised when the puppies came out mutated. They immediately dropped them off at a shelter and requested they be euthanized. I know it's a done deal, but it still really upset me for some reason. They couuld have surrenndered them to a rescue instead...do you think because they were inbred, they would have life threatening abnormalities, and euuthanizing them was the best decision? I just feel so bad that they were so IGNORANT and didnt care to pay for their uninformed decision, so they just abandoned them and demanded they be put to sleep? Instead of at least trying to find someone who could give them the love and healthcare they deserved? I'm so angry about this, theyre all being horrible and cracking jokes about the puppies being crippled/deformed and im sitting silently, while my mind races and my heart just ACHES. I feel sickened. |
Sorry for the typos, on cellphone and very upset. |
Oh, and she's trying to breed them AGAIN, this is disgusting. What stupid people... |
OMG! that is horrible!!!! they NEVER should have bred that female with the father without knowledge of breeding...That is just wrong! then laughing about it!!! I would have been FURIOUS!! I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut! As for euthanizing the litter...I don't know..I did see a dog on tv that didn't have front legs and it learned to walk upright...like a human...what a horrible thing these people did! I hope to GOD that they have them neutered/spayed so this doesn't happen again |
maybe you could call aspca?? maybe they could help...What IDIOTS!! |
I'm talking to the woman's son...he's a teenager. I'm practically begging him to have them spayed, but hes laughing it off, turns out theyve done this before and the whole litter died except the runt. I asked if the runt had health probs, he diidnt want to tell me. DUH!!! What idiots..I feel so bad...I got her name and googled, but nothingI came up. thank god she isnt trying to sell them (At least on the internet)... |
that is just horrible!! I'm hopping someone reads this and can give some input as to what can be done to stop them from continuing to do this...I would think this would be abuse |
This is horrible. They will have to answer for that some day. What cruel people. It makes my heart hurt. :( |

The people who aree doing this are most likely inbred mad: |
How horrible and sadistic:cry: I hope they all rot in H#ll for this:mad: Wish I knew a way to stop them, besides swiping the dogs in question. They would just get more dogs anyway, I'm sure! |
Oh my. :(. How sad. I can not believe they are trying to breed again. I mean what the heck??? the poor pups. :( |
I think the Mom should be euthanized not the dogs. What a complete idiot and waste of space! |

how horrible people are stupid |
How crippled/deformed are these pups? Breeding a father/daughter is not always going to result in problems. Of course they should never have bred them in the first place since they didn't know what they are doing. Inbreeding is something that should only be attempted by those who have a full knowledge of canine genetics. But you are now asking if the pups should be euthanized. So, I am going to go with that -- it all depends - are they in pain? Do they have a chance at survival? I believe if they have a chance to survive, then they should be allowed that life. You are right that a rescue would be the best bet for taking care of puppies with health problems. But again, this hinges on WHAT exactly is wrong with the pups? If you are really wanting to help, I would contact the shelter he took the puppies to and see what needs to be done to stop them from being killed. Then contact the local Chi Rescue and go from there. If there is not a Chihuahua rescue around you, try a small breed rescue. Sometimes they just combine when resources are slim. Good luck! I hope you can save them! |
Utterly disgusting. Don't try to help these people yourself, they are too far gone and it is out of your league. Call the SPCA explain what is going on and they WILL go out and appeal to them. If SPCA says they won't (I'm sure they won't say no)give me their name and number because I will make sure they (SPCA) do. Next thing, stay all the way away from these types of people, they are obviously without conscience, do you really want to be involved with people like this? I'm sorry for your psyche and heart that you had to go through all this, it is very disturbing. |
I think I would euthanize the litter if they aren't going to place them in special homes as these dogs could each have an incredibly awful future with someone who can't specially care for & watch for the many life problems they will have. Some young couple could take one for their toddler or has big dogs or doesn't watch out for the many, many issues dogs missing front legs could have. Without front legs, they are going to be severely hampered in any attempt to try to defend themselves from another dog or cat who attacks or plays rough. Only the most caring & loving of forever homes should get a severely deformed dog - otherwise, its life can be awful. |
So sad. I hate to hear about it. It does sound like a pretty big deformity and that the dogs would be pretty hard to place. I don't know what I would do. I definitely would not breed them again but sounds like that ship has already sailed. Ugh. |
wow, that is so crazy! I would only euthanize if an animal was suffering. these are new borns that could lead normal healthy lives never knowing they were supposed to have four legs! shame, poor babies, and poor papa and daughter dogs, going to be breed again and again |
How horrible. I have seen dogs born without front legs live normal lives. It's really too bad that they are so uneducated. Poor puppies... |

TThe puppies were already euthanized when I learned of this, otherwise I would have demanded I get the puppies MYSELF, and I would have MADE SURE they went to homes that would allow them to have relatively normal lives...I was so sad that I couldnt save them. I already called spca, gave them her name, number, and home address, and I pray they will go out and take the bitch away from her stupid owners. It is animal cruelty to be breeding that girl when she obviously has genetic diseases or SOMETHING, he said multiple litters came out with missing legs or eyes!!! It's DISGUSTING and I sure as heck told him off, I couldnt keep quiet thinking about how irresponsible she was...I called her this morning and personally told her I gave her number to spca and if she breeds that dog again she will pay for her careless actions. |

It is disgusting. I very likely would have had them euthanized. Hard to say though. i do't think there is anything illegal going on here, unfortunately... |
wow that made me sick to my stomach the poor babies. thank you for sticking your neck out to help that momma. lets hope the spca freakn follows up. |
:( how horrible that they could see the result and still take the chance and breed the chi's again...:thumbdown |
That happened here a few years back. An entire liter of chi pups with no front legs. Luckily, the situation ended better. I worked for a newspaper at the time, our publisher (almost like CEO) adopted one of them and then put them in the paper (story) and they all got adopted. I hope those people NEVER breed again though... that is extremely sad. http://digitaljournal.com/article/304561 |
It is stories like these that make me want to support legislation that "outlaws" breeding of pups by Anyone who owns them. Each wanna be breeder must be licensed, and have passed a breeding course, and be mentored for the first five years of breeding. That mentoring is to be paid for! Shame Shame on these people!. |
People like that disgust me to no end. Have you thought of finding another boyfriend? I would find it hard to continue to look those people in the eye. |
The sad thing is this happens more than we know-Not everyone loves and respects animals the way we do- There is nothing you can do about it. I think it is a good thing the puppies were euthanized, I am sure if they weren't they would be have been thrown in the shelter bc nobody would want to adopt them, then they would have put them to sleep anyways because of the deformities. If it were me, I would stay clear away of that house and those people, I would not put myself in that position to see that again. :thumbdown |
