Just saw a girl sporting the Tom's ninja shoes at the post office. Only difference was she wears a size 5 like me and they looked cute tiny. I think I want ninja shoes. :D

At LEAST with the classic LV monogram you can say that it's a classic that will never go out of style...AND at the very least have a pretty reasonable resale value...those nylon bags though...they're going to be a passing trend that you will be lucky to get $25 for on Ebay in a couple of years.

My son has started liking Sperry shoes, kind of like boat shoes.I live near Atlanta so all we have around here is boys wearing pants 2 sizes too big, letting them ride down so you can see there underwear, so they hold the pants up with one hand when they walk. Of course this isn't allowed at my son's high school unless you are wanting to stay home for a few days on suspension.

I saw some girls use those when I went to UCI for the summer. But they used the Dooney nylon bags.

I guess it's the whole young girls wearing old lady brands thing that is still in. Started with LV and Chanel, and then the houses themselves revamping to appeal to a younger market--a market who for the most part cannot afford these lines, ever. :rolleyes: These luxury brands are supposed to be for a select few, not for the masses, yet with the marketing these days, many people think they deserve these brands. :rolleyes: again. Then they resort to fakes. And then the companies get mad that their are fakes being made. Vicious circle they created. LOL

So now they try to introduce "affordable" pieces like these fugly nylon bags just so young girls can carry around the brand. I say if you want to wear a certain label, wait until they do a line for Target or H&M.

Oh forgot to mention, since the skinny pants rage has started, instead of pants too big and saggin showing their boxers, we now have fat kids wearing skinnies two sizes too small and still showing their underwear! My eyes!

I fit into kids sizes. Little feet come in handy sometimes. I read the reviews, and apparently the soles of the kids shoes are ticker and sturdier than the adult shoes.

Wait! I got a good one! Skinny jeans with the butt sagging down. BF called them cagado pants, because it made the kids look like babies with soiled, sagging diapers.

I'm a 3, 3.5. Depends on the shoe. My last shoe purchase was a 2.5 for my converse allstars.

Oh yeah, that's right. Kid sizes are just like men's sizing, just lower in number. You know what's weird is shoes like Converse and Doc Marten's that are in mens/kids sizes, I wear a 4, which translates into a 6, but I wear a 7 in womens. Maybe mens shoes they make wider? I like my shoes loose.

Maybe. I thought my new converse were an abnormality. I've had several pairs over the years, and they always run a bit small, so I get 3 or 3.5. This time I got a 2.5. :confused:

Here in Michigan, my daughter has some Toms & claims they're really comfortable, but she's a 21 year old college student that walked around most of the last school year in moccasins, indoor/outdoor slippers or uggs....none of which have arch support.

My son, 19, also in college, doesn't have (& has never had) a rat tail but he does have a faux-hawk.

If junk shoes & goofy hair-dos are my biggest problem with them...I consider myself lucky and voice no complaints :)

No he wears the shoes with khaki pants or nice shorts. It is a lot of the other boys that wear the saggy pants, it looks so stupid, they try to walk with their pants like this.

I agree with everything that you've said. Mass marketing is a double-edged sword. A lot of these powerhouses (I'm more familiar with LV) have to delicately balance marketing while maintaining its exclusivity. Chanel tries to circumvent this by incorporating these ridiculous quarterly price hikes (a classic chanel flap bag is now approximately $4,0000:eek:) and now LV is trying to catch up by increasing their prices as well (two as of this year...with a rumored third to take place before 2012) upon realizing that they are no longer as exclusive as they'd like to be. I see girls walking around with LV bags around campus all the time. Not all of them are real of course...but still. Louis Vuitton is not as exclusive as it once was due to (in my opinion) using mainstream celebrities for their marketing campaigns. What's even more unfortunate is that the craftmanship is not getting better as the value increases...quite the opposite from the looks of it. I can't begin to count how many complaints I've read about the canvas peeling, uneven stitching, piping issues with couture purses nowadays...I don't know I'm a sucker for history, craftmanship, and customer service...however it seems that none of the brands are achieving any of the latter two.

You see that in everything now. We just cleared my dad's storage room in one of the buildings he maintains. (he's the maintenance guy/property manager) The property just sold, and we had to clear out. My dad has stuff in there from when he started (over 26 years ago) and it's amazing to compare the quality of a faucet from 20 years ago (made in USA product) to something he bought last week. (made in China) We took it all with us since you can't find quality products anymore.
