BUT if you come to them in a calm manner, they are more perceptive to whats being said and will probably understand whats being said. humans are just the same.
i certainly do NOT think i am a hypocrite for calling ANYONE mean. i call them how i see them. i suppose if your one of the nice people, maybe the word "MEANIE" wouldn't bother you so much. let me rephrase myself. IS ANYONE ELSE SICK AND TIRED OF MEMBERS ON YT WHO DON'T SAY NICE THINGS. i bet you still would have come on here with the same argument. | I don't think that she was rude or mean either. (Then again, I'm not so easily offended.) I never said that she was. On the contrary, I said I actually understood where she was coming from. She read something she felt strongly about and responded in a strong manner--the SAME thing that others are being called "mean" and criticized for. So really, we're not all so different, eh? She said that she agreed with some of my points, not with others. I feel the same way.
In addition, I thought she made a very good point. Would you get a free pass to push someone out of a wheelchair, just because you donate 1000s to charity? (Of course, my first question would be, what did the guy in the wheelchair do?;)) It's funny....100s of positive posts are not enough to justify someone as a "good person," yet a handful of negative ones are enough to condemn them. How's that for logic?
I'm not going to say that "rude" or "mean" comments don't cause for negative vibes on YT...but so do threads like where everyone has a whine-fest and calls names. So yes, IMO, that is like the pot calling the kettle black. Thing is, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I'm certainly guilty of venting about things and blowing off steam, who isn't? But if you express an opinion, you can count on someone else viewing it the opposite way. Doesn't make anyone "right", just different. In the end, it won't matter. Like previously mentioned, this topic has been discussed 564254 times before. In the end, either people will learn to deal with it, or they'll let it upset them. A few years from now, you'll most likely either 1) not even be here anymore, or 2) have a completely different understanding of opposing points of view. |
