I have sent the PM and also asked for clarification/confirmation of the rule, if it is needed. If rules need to change, they can be changed; if Admin thinks they are satisfactory, they can stay the same. Doesn't hurt to ask and/or see if something needs modification. The subject brings out so many different viewpoints.

We do understand some members may be sensitive to threads of a sexual nature. The thread in question explicitly says it is about marital sex and is not trying to "trick" any members into viewing it. No one is "forced" to read the thread and it is in the Off Topic forum. YorkieTalk members are free to share or not share in any thread they wish. We do not see any content that would be deemed illegal in that thread at this time. For kids or for any members in general, we can block the entire Off Topic forum for any account if it is requested, just let us know and we can change the settings for that particular account.

Members are free to donate or not donate to YorkieTalk based on their own free will. We would never want any members to donate to YorkieTalk if they are not comfortable in doing so. Donations are non-refundable. We do appreciate all donations that we do receive and there are special perks for members that do donate and help out our community.

By all means, let us redirect focus to something other than the offensive material in question - sexually obscene material (to make it completely clear to those who are caught up in grammar - the graphic pictures of vibrators and other adult toys) that have no place on a board supposedly dedicated to the fellowship of Yorkie owners. That way, people just might forget what started this whole thing in the first place.

I'm pretty surprised at the outrage directed at that thread. When I think "obscene", I think, well, way worse than pictures of marital aids.

Just for the record, I censor myself quite a bit here. I tend to have a pretty crude sense of humor, and I can swear like a sailor. So for people who are upset, keep in mind that for some of us, the website could use a lot more dirt. :)

Oh please...I wasn't trying to "redirect" anything. :rolleyes: Seems like the subject had taken a turn to "if" the material is allowed per guidelines, so examining the rule itself as some of us were was right in line with the conversation. Sorry if some of us let our sense of humor show in the process.

You gotta be kidding! I have raised 3 daughters in the Church and there are more Sex Scandals in my Religion than any Porn site. As a matter of fact the priest holding my daughter in her Baptismal Photo was found guilty and put in prison for molesting boys. Have you been to your local High School Lately? Do you know what goes on while they are walking to class. It's not talking about Happy Days. Between the selling of Drugs, having Sex in the Bathroom, kids these days know more about Sex than you or I can ever imagine. Once a kid enters JH and HS they have lost their innocents. Sad but true. Not saying all have sex and do drugs but they see it in their daily lives at school. Please do not live like an ostrich with you head buried in the sand. If I offended anyone with my comments in the Sex Thread I do apologize. Just having some fun. Some people have no one to talk with , so they come on here because the feel comfortable with friends. They may not have parents or friends other than YT. I can understand that. If you go back and read, some of the questions where genuine and they truly wanted answers.

The only reason I even brought that up was because somebody posted it several times trying to make their point and then started stating a few priveledged members could get away with breaking the rules the rest of us had to follow. I let it go the first time and then decided to post what I read it to say

JeanieK, its an off topic board, dont click it if you cant take it. The person was asking a serious question and others gave their opinion. What about the Menopause Thread, some people may not want to hear about women problems. Is Sex that dirty little secret to you. I think of it as a part of my daily life. So it does not offend me at all. I am not trying to be rude just trying to understand your feelings.

There was also a doggie sex toy posted years back, nobody was upset over that and I thought it was pretty graphic. Tried to find it, but having a hard time.

And I totally understand your feelings, I was totally surprised their was a sex thread on here, but I don't have to visit it and seems the bigger deal you make over it, the more attention you attract to it.

Oh please...there is a LOT on YT that offends me. I dont go through the rules trying to apply it to MY personal feelings.

Honestly i don't see anything wrong with the thread either and after reading the rule the first time it was posted i didn't think it broke the rules either.

Ann and Admin have both stated that no rules are being broken by that thread. The title clearly states what the thread is about so if you think its going to offend you then don't read it.

Even though i don't see anything wrong with the thread i personally wouldn't share some of the things others have on the internet. You never know who else is reading it (I'm not worried about kids because if there is a will there is a way). There are some creepy and dangerous people out there.

Regarding kids reading this material i hardly think this is the place they are going to come to read about sex. If kids are really interested in finding something there are plenty other worse sites around where they can read and look all they want. Kids today are not as innocent as you think. I'm 27 now and can remember kids having sex back when i was in jr high 15 or so years ago. There was also smoking, drugs, fights, bomb threats, fires, and racial fights going on. You can try to shelter your kids all you want at home, but they are gonna see a lot at school unless your from a very small town.

I am sorry you feel that way, How many members are on YT? And you are allowing a few bother you? Go to the General Forum, tons of new people needing questions answered, sick and injured needing help. I agree that YT is different from a few years ago. There are a lot of people that are no long here, and have gone elsewhere. And i understand where you are coming from.

However i honestly don't understand this "fear" of posting because of what others will think. The way I see it is that this is the internet and you are behind a screen. These other people may not like what you say or might express a totally opposite opinion quite forcefully but what are they really going to do to you? I was upset about a few things going on toward the end of last year and i took a break from YT. I came back in May i think with a different attitude towards it. There are people and topics i definitely do not agree with but i am trying my best to just ignore it and walk away. sure sometimes I slip up, i'm only human, but i'm not going to let other people dictate where i want to post, read, and spend my time. I do not care if people on the internet do not like me. When am i honestly going to see these people in person? most likely never. There are also people on here that i love talking to and consider my friends and would love to meet in person.

There is no shortage of dirt on the internet. It was nice "thinking' that this forum was above that, but apparently it isn't. Hopefully this is not Just the beginning.

I am sorry, but since when is marital sex dirty? Maybe to a few, yes, but not to the majority of people.

Suggesting that is insulting, imho, to the person who started that thread. She had concerns...clearly loves her husband and wants her marriage to be better.
