That's hysterical !!! I was also going to suggest the garbage bag thing. That is what I used for my daughter when she had leg sugery and couldn't stand up. She just sat on a stool at the kitchen sink and I draped the bag into the sink so the water runs off into the sink. That will do the trick until you can take a full shower.

| So after my shower tonight I put the usual bacitracin on my nipple area where the incisions are and added some clean bandages.. I went to check out my bandages and change them ( they have been gettin yucky lately ) and I found that my left nipple has been "oozing" out puss.. indicating an infection.. well I barely touched around the hole/incision where the puss was coming from and more fluid lightly gushed from the site. Not good I didnt want to mess with it too much but everytime i applied even the lightest pressure yellow/blood stuff would come out, then it turned to just blood.. I added more bandages and I am tryin to keep a layer of clean bandages on it until I can see the doctor tomorrow. I think he should have put drainage tubes in after all. I think the reason they are so swollen is because I had no drainage tubes after bc he said they looked good and I wasnt bleeding that bad in surgery. I think all the swolleness is built up fluid. Sorry if that grosses anybody out... UGh.. well this just means more pain meds and antibiotics.. with a dash of anti-inflammatory meds.. it hurts.. but i think i am freakin myself out more than anything...

| Yeah i know! My DH told me this morning last night that we were under a tsunami watch/warning last night.. it was super windy here I will say that! I think I just miss my dogs more than home, even though I know they are having a blast with the neighbor/friend lady and her two kids and hubby...I don't care for Japan at all.. but I call it home.. lol and i miss it!

| Oh ouch! Did the doc prescribe an antibiotic, just in case? While the swelling is probably due to not having drains post-op, it's not normal to have pus come out You can help your body drain some of that excess fluid by drinking tons of water, and a few times a day, have some hot lemon tea (juice of a whole lemon with a little sugar and hot water). You can drink it cold, but it seems to work better as a hot tea Don't use artificial sweeteners, as they're not great for us and we don't fully understand how they can affect healing. There is a ton of healing still going on inside your breasts, so even though your outside stitches are out now, you have a ways to go. There are thousands of nerves, capillaries, etc. that have been disturbed and need time to get back to normal. Don't do too much too soon, no matter what the surgeon says. My first BR surgeon told me to "get back to normal" after only TWO weeks Thankfully, I didn't listen to him, but listed to all the girls on BreastHealthOnline, who had all been through the surgery themselves. I really could have hurt myself ! They helped me so much that I became a support staff member and have been there on and off since 2001.I have witnessed THOUSANDS of women go through this surgery, and the great majority of the gals that have complications are the ones that are doing too much, too soon There was even one that went SURFING at 2 weeks post op By the time the pain sets in, it's too late, the damage has been done. Some surgeons just don't have a clue how long healing takes, and all the things we women do in our daily lives. So when they say to get back to our routine, I don't think that they realize how much arm movement/chest muscles we use. The most you should be doing at this point is going for a leisurely walk a couple of times a day, to keep the blood moving and keep from getting too stiff. Then right back to the bed or recliner. The more you rest, the better your healing will be I'm not saying that you've been doing too much, but I know how antsy I got in my surgical recoveries and don't want you to make that same mistake. The enemy is boredom I hope that you don't think that I'm "scolding" you, I'm really not---I just care and want you to be careful.Been thinking about ya and wondering how you're doing! I hope that you start feel better soon
