i've looked into getting this done a few times. My a 36D and would like to be a small C. Compared to some of you guys mine are smaller but the problems are huge. My back and neck constantly hurt. I can't run on flat surface or up and down stairs without holding them, LOL. i have horrible indents in my shoulders from my bras. Plus they are not exactly where i would like them to be for my age (i'm 26). I so want to get it done but its expensive and i'm worried about the scarring. To get bigger boobs all they make is a tiny little hole but to make smaller boobs they give you circles and anchors LOL what's with that? you'd think they'd come up with a less invasive method by now. good luck with your surgery! your gonna look great afterwards! |

I can't even see my sisters scars anymore so I wouldn't worry about that. |
My surgery was 100% paid for by my insurance. |

I had the surgery a LONG time ago --27 years ago. It was wonderful to wear normal clothes. I don't remember the recovery being a big deal, but I probably forgot most of that. My change was not terribly dramatic, and yet it still made a huge difference in my life. Plastic surgeons say that this is the surgery with the highest customer satisfaction. It really is great that you can do this. I always feel so sorry for women who need this surgery but do not have the means to do it. Regarding scars--not an issue. They disappear with time. and Cindy--NO SMART REMARKS, girl.;) |

Seriously though, I would love to have a reduction...I never even thought about the pain afterwards though...YIKES. Those who have had c sections, is it worse? I know diff area of the body and such but pain-wise? I have a pretty high pain tolerance. And how hard is it to get insurance approval? I am a DD (up to a GG when prego) and I must say my cups still overfloweth...hubby and I have "fought" over this for years. Of course, being a man, he wants them to stay but he doesn't have to carry these melons around all the time. I have horrible posture now and back pain... Anywho...to the OP...good luck, I am sure everything will go smoothly!:) |

I had this surgery in 2001. Afterwards, I had a friend ask me if I recommended it. I think she was surprised with my answer. Yes and no. For all the health benefits, i.e. back pain, shoulder pain, etc. I vote yes. But for everything else, i.e. lost feeling, scars, loss of identity (you'd be surprised how being a size 38 H defines who you are!) I vote no. I also had the complication of developing an infection in one incision, which healed really badly, as well as a staph infection in one breast, requiring a second surgery. But all in all, I'd say the easiest part of the whole ordeal was falling asleep with that lovely sleeping medicine they give you. I would love to have some of that lying around here sometimes! LOL! I went down to a small D cup. |

GOOD LUCK:D!!!!!!!! Sending good thoughts your way:love: Please make sure that you don't get sunburned, especially in your chest area. They may actually postpone your surgery if you're sunburned there, and I know you don't want to go through that. And I imagine that it wouldn't feel too good, either! Gosh, I'm almost as excited for you as I was when I had my surgeries. It changed my life for the better in so many ways:thumbup: |

No Regrets! Reduction in 2007 I went from a long and ropey 38DD to an average 36C. I have never looked back, and am so glad I had the surgery. My insurance paid for all but $300. I had No pain! My surgeon administered a "block", sometime after anethesia was started. It was some sort of injection on both sides of my ribcage. I never took any pain meds, it was amazing. I I took one week off from work and followed the post op instructions very carefully. One thing I havn't seen mentioned here is, dont be alarmed if your breasts are not perfectly round. Right after surgery they may appear oval. As you heal on the inside the breast will continue to reshape into a nice normal round shape. I was shocked how great my nipples looked, they had not looked like that since I was about 16. I have very little scarring, none really that makes me upset. Oh and yes.......the girls do like to peak out and say hello, it must have been the wine:p Have a speed recovery and let us know how it goes. |
Update.. I went for my pre op today.. blood work and paperwork.. dr. lee measured my boobs and all that good stuff... took a few before pics.. now its just a waiting game until the 16th.. everything looks really good so far.. I am off to waikiki to enjoy the beach a little bit :) |

Hey, you got the surgery faster than I expected! That's great! Here's to some cute perky 34C's! :cheer::cheer::cheer: |
ok i am gonna try this.. still pretty high right now.. notmuch pain though.. i went in at 540 in the morning to check in and they took my vitals.. got my IV at like 650.. they stuck me like 5 times 3 times on my left hand and twice on my right .. they said my veins were really small.. everytime they stuck me with teh baby needle though it hurt the worst bc they used a local anesthesia.. which felt like acid .. but i took it like a champ! Then the doctor came in and marked me and asked me what size I wanted...big needle came next..then came the happy juice lol my hubby gave me kisses right before that came, he said i kept laughing and saying " i am so happy im such a happy person, because im happy right now!" I dont remember that at all. He said the anesthesiologist kept laughing at me. After that I guess they wheeled me to the OR .. I woke up which seemed like after 30 minutes.. which i know it wasnt.. and they said my name... i said "im done already?!" then my heart started up.. ive never been under before and they were telling me that my heart rate was extremely high and they would not put me in recovery until it came down.. that took about an hour or so and let me tell you , it sucked. I felt like i was having a heart attack and them talkin about around me wasnt helping calm me down. I fell asleep again and overheard them saying they had given me something to help calm it. next i had to pee reallllllly bad.. had to use a bed pan .. never used one of those.. the nurse put one under me and let me tell you ... it buuuuuurned.. i did not know they cathed me while in surgery.. after i relieved myself she took me to recovery... FOR 2 hours!!!! Gotta love the military~ they wanted to get me the hell outta there. my husband came in after i first got down there and sat with me... i had to take 2 pain pills because it felt like my incisions were burning... they then told me once the pain went down i could go home. hubby dressed me... took a ride to the hospital guest lodging ( very painful , full of bumps ) and now im here.. been sleeping in a recliner, hubby has been waking me for pills when needed... i love him so much... cant think of anything else.. bandages are wrapped tight.. i go back tomorrow at 1000 for a follow up.. wish me luck and thank you all for being so sweet and supportive... Gnite :shocked7q |
So glad to hear that everything went well. You must be so excited that it is over and you won't have to deal with all the problems you were facing before surgery. Best of luck and I will say a prayer for your speedy recovery. |
Yeah, I remember them shuffling me out the door very quickly, too. I'd had my tubes tied exactly two weeks before, and apparently, I kept saying "I want to go home" while I was coming out of anesthesia, so they let me leave before I was really awake. I woke up as I was being helped into the car. So I told my sister, who was my caregiver, not to listen to me if I did the same thing after my second surgery. I did, but they didn't let me go until I was fully awake. I am so happy that your surgery went well, and you have a wonderful hubby to see to your needs. Get well quickly, so you can enjoy Hawaii a little more before you have to go back home. Keep us updated. :) |
Congratulations on your new small boobies:D!!!! I'm so glad that your hubby is taking good care of you. Very important to keep up with the pain pills, and it's hard to do that when you're on pain pills:laugh: Scientific studies show that the body heals faster when not in pain:thumbup: Keep resting, and drink lots of water:thumbup: Gentle hugs!! |
How are you today? Please take it easy. Glad your husband is taking such good care of you. :) |
YAY!!!! I'm soooo glad for you that its done and went well! I really hope the recovery is not too bad and that you rested well last night! Let us know how you are doing today! |
