Shocking Info on Sarah Palin
 

I am not political by no means. But I was sent a link in an email that really disturbs me. I just wanted people to see this. I am not trying to start a political discussion. But I do not think Sarah Palin is an animal person. I just worry what impact she will have on animal rights and endangered species!

Warning some of the pictures might be disturbing to some.

Don't believe everything you receive in an email. Several of those items have already been proven as inaccurate or wrong.

Just out of curiousity which ones? I know many of them are things that are true or have actually been stated by her as part of her platform but some were new to me. I'm just wondering which if any of those things are true.

I just read a little more thouroughly and the few things I hadn't heard are linked to news articles (which I know can get things wrong but are usually pretty trustworthy).

i didnt read the whole thing but most of those look to be true, i have heard her talk about a few like abortion, hunting, etc.

Me too that's why I was wondering.:confused: If I've missed something then of course I want to know. Regardless I don't think many would define her as an animal lover in the way that most of us use that term.

p.s. I actually do know how to spell thoroughly- that silly little extra u just snuck in there.:D

I don't think a of those pictures a) are real or b) matter... she lives in a state where hunting is part of how people live... it would be like judging people who live in Nunavit (a Canadian province) for hunting... it's a different way of life but it's their way of life.

My opinions aren't based on the pictures they are based on her policy and integrity.

Yes, they are true. She is not concealing the her views on abortion or abstinence only sex education in schools.

There have been many biographies on her on MSN and CNN, plus she had an interview with Charlie Gibson. She is an avid hunter. She talks about how she used to get up at 4:30 in the morning to go moose hunting before school when she was a child. She is an favor of ariel wolf hunting as they are predators of moose and caribou.

She doesn't believe global warming is man made and opposes putting polar bears on the endangered species list.

Since she is so new on the political scene, there is much to be learned about her record whether or not you are a Republican or Democrat since she could be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

I probably used a poor choice of words...perhaps misconstrued would've been better.

For one thing the Alaska wildlife dept has been hunting animals via air...forever. There were two bills introduced...which merge an existing law already on the books. Many Alaskan hunt....caribou, moose etc...for food. The killing of wolves keeps the wolf population down so that the caribou, moose population stays at a level that people are able to hunt without depleting those. Those species have 1 baby...wolves have litters.

The group circulating this email is an anti hunting group. They don't believe in hunting period...so it wouldn't matter if you were on the ground or in the air...they wouldn't support it.

The library thing....Palin asked a hypotheical question...there is not any list of books...none were removed. In addition to firing the libriarian...after she'd taken office...she also sent letters firing the heads of other city departments. It is allowed and done all the time. There isn't any deviant or malicous about it.

My point is really....unless you know the author ....don't take every political email sent as fact.

I do remember one about Obama stating he is a muslim...complete with links etc to back the claim.

But do you not agree...the way that website portrays some of that information in an inflammatory manner and somewhat twisted in how it was presented.

I'm confused. I don't think anyone even mentioned the pictures.

Personally, the pictures don't really have much of an effect on me (although I don't agree with aerial hunting or fur), especially when there are MANY, MANY other major issues that I strongly disagree with Palin on.

Also, I would say the pictures would matter to you if you were against hunting, fur, etc. I don't think it's fair to say just because it's a "way of life" that you can't be against the issue and that it doesn't matter.

Her personal hunting or anyone elses isn't an issue to me personally. I couldn't do it but it is legal and is the very least of my concerns about her.

Thanks for the other information on ariel hunting. That was one of the issues I am unfamiliar with although it says Alaskans voted against it twice. Honestly it isn't an issue I know much about. I didn't know anything about the library either. I guess we'll have to wait and see with troopergate. It does look like she doesn't want the findings to come out until after the election which makes me wonder why. I would want my name cleared if I were up for election (providing I was innocent). I couldn't agree more that it is important to know where information is coming from (I've never seen that site before and am not familiar with it at all) but most of those statements on that site have been cooberated by Palin herself.

There are alot of things on the internet put there purposly just to sway the vote.

But if it is fact, then that's what should decide your vote anyway.;)

That's just the nature of politics. It's important that we don't take the ads at face value and do our own research on the candidates. From my research, the information in that email is true, but yes, the pictures are shocking to those of us who don't live in Alaska.

You're right- and that definitley is not good. I was only referring to the link provided in this post, most of which we know to be true from Palin herself.:)

let me state this clearly; This is my opinion! She hunts! Big Whoop!!! What about his religious belief!

Hunting for meat is one thing. Hunting for sport or bounty to me is wrong. Shooting animals from planes with shotguns is most definately wrong. That is just my oppinion.

I think the things that concern people about her go waaaaay beyond hunting. She wouldn't be the first VP who hunts. In fact I would put it at the bottom of my list of things that concern me about her. It's interesting how her supporters only focus on hunting. That's not what her detractors are focused on at all.

It seems to me that the detractors are the ones that brought up the hunting. Not the supporters.

YAY SARAH PALIN! Her beliefs are not as strange and outrageous as all of you might think. I am a law student and have studied politics and the state of our nation quite extensively and I agree with a lot of what she stands for. I think she's awesome!

I agree that man-made global warming is a farce. Haven't you heard the lastest news that now the earth is experiencing a cooling trend (according to the lastest Almanac) and Al Gore has given himself an award saying he "cured" global warming???

I agree with her stance on abortion.

I agree with drilling in Alaska.

Creationism should be taught alongside evolution in public schools.

I obtained my first passport this summer.

I am an avid supporter of hunters! (which is completely legal by the way!)
