Animals Matter To Me- Worldwide Petition
 
This is a really important petition, it is getting the attention of governments all over the world.

Please take a minute to sign. They are trying to get 3 million signatures in 2008.

Every day millions of animals are born into lives of unspeakable suffering. Every day millions more suffer terrible deaths.

The only way to stop this cycle of cruelty is to get Governments to agree to end it. That is what a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare is all about and why you should vote to support it.

By signing the petition you will be conveying to your Government that animals – and their welfare – matter to you.

Please add your name to the million already collected. Governments are beginning to listen. Soon they will act. Every vote counts.

Perhaps we can "thank" Mr. Vick for helping to bring animal cruelty to an un-ignorable limelight recently. CSI's episode reflected the concern. Ellen's adoptions story highlighted the need for good homes.

A groomer/boarder in my town is under arrest for allegedly poisoning dogs at a competitor's business. Her attorney, while trying unsuccessfully to get a change in venue, said that a new wave has swept the country and the abuse of animals evokes the same emotion as the abuse of children. He said we are somewhat desensitized to murder, but cruelty to animals and children is now extremely difficult to defend against.

Animal abuse is on the rise. Millions of animals DAILY are abused Worldwide.
We need tougher laws! We need legislation to change this! Animals are not disposable and they do count!
PETA has done more damage then good! People hear the words animal activist and picture an over the top crazy person splashing red paint on someone wearing a fur coat.
I love animals and just want to protect them. I want to stop puppy mills!

We need people to speak up, sign petitions and let those who are caught abusing animals know that we as a Country won't stand for it!

I am stepping down from my soapbox now...

If we all did just one thing it would make a huge difference.
My one thing this year is to help get the laws changed.

Everyone spells my name wrong, which I am sure happens to you.:p
I had a rep last week at work ask me if I was sure I spelled my name right when I gave him my email address?!

LOL yeah. When I was in like 2nd grade, my teacher kept spelling my name wrong so I started spelling my name "Michelle"...my mom had to talk to my teacher to make sure she spelled my name right and that I stopped writing my name wrong :p

That is funny! I did the same thing only I did it because there were 3 other Michelle's in my class and I wanted my name to be like theirs:p

I pray that the laws do change this year to start protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
