I keep trying to tell you all that okra is really bad for you.


It will put hair where you don't want it to grow. The first time I tried it I had hair on my bottom..........lol and I had to shave it off.

That stuff is really really bad.

Puts hair in places that you don't want hair to grow.:eek::eek:

Ok, so I didn't read thru this entire thread but....am I the only one who hasn't a clue what Okra is? :confused:

LOL. No you probably aren't the only one. :) It's a vegetable that is famous "down south" in the US. Of course us northerners like it too.:rolleyes:

It gets really slimey in liquid - as in soups. Sounds like those southern folk like it deep fried a lot. Or, as I like it (since I don't have much choice) is chopped fresh and sauted in a pan with butter and maybe a spice or two sprinkled on it. Or you can get it pickled. To me, they tasted just like regular pickles.

Seems like people either hate it or love it.

or maybe you called it something else.

here are a couple of pics whole and cut up.
people cut it and batter it and fry it. it is crunchy too. not always terribly slimy!

WOOHOO!!! I've been home in Louisiana since last Tuesday,, been home watching my OKRA GROW!!! and its JUST ABOUT TO SET BLOOM!!! I have tiny peas,, will be ready to start pickin in about a week,, we pulled our first watermelons!!!
I'm SO Happy to see the Great Okra Thread alive again!!! :D
