LOL! I've gotten this quesiton a lot lately, and all I can say is...let's see how this year goes :rolleyes: . Unfortunatley, the turnout isn't turning out to be what we anticipated, so that may affect whether or not we do anymore in the future...at least from my standpoint. Of course, if someone else wants to take it on in the future, that would be up to them :confused: ! It really is a lot of work for such a low turnout, but the original idea was to have one on the east or west coast next year, with it on the opposite coast the following year, and back in the midwest the year following that. That way, maybe everyone could attend at least once every 3 years. BUT...like I said...(from my perspective anyway) let's just get through this year first and see how it goes...:cool:

That would be lots of fun but we've got to keep it affordable :p

My company owns hotels throughout the country. We just bought the Universal Sheraton in Universal City....BTW - Guess what I do for a living?:p

Cool....can you get a discount? LOL I usually stay there at least once a year and it's good because they let dogs stay too!! I know I'll be staying there in April and again in September for a night! Teddi loves it there.

I can definitely get a friends and family rate based on their occupancy rate at the time so it doesn't hurt for me to check :) Let me know what dates and I will check the rates for you.

We mostly own boutique hotels (we just sold the Hotel del Coronado last year) so it's exciting to have a conference hotel in our portfolio.

Your Idol preformed free of charge a yr or so ago at the Iowa State Fair. I'm sure you could see her again

i wonder if posting about the meet up in general would get some others attention. maybe we could get a better turn out.

I really, really wanted to go so badly. I have searched endlessly for deals but the total cost of the trip for me would be close to $1000. :eek: That doesn't include any shopping money.....and I looovvvee to shop. Anyway, I hope there is a meetup closer to me in the future that I can go to. I'm looking forward to all the pictures and maybe some video!:D

It helps a lot if you find roommates and even someone to split gas money if you're driving. I'm riding up there with two YT members and sharing a room with them so we're splitting all the costs. It really helps a lot.

wHEN i LOOKED INTO AIRLINE FLIGHTS IT WAS GOING TO COST $650 for us then another $320 to take 2 babies with us..that is $970 just for travel.... then the hotel, rental car, etc etc etc.. SOOOOOOOOOOO

We decided to drive.. lol.. I mean it is only 1500 miles!!
Driving, gas would be about 250-300 round trip
hotels for 4 night appprox $520
food on trip approx $300
total about $1120

Then we decided that if we were going to drive, why not rent an RV... That way we could save the cost of staying in hotels for 2 nights each way.. BUT if we rented the RV for just the time to drive there and back, they would have charged us $27 per 100 miles just for mileage ($9000) PLUS the cost of the RV rental and gas.. But if we rented it for 2 weeks, we could get unlimited mileage for $785
So now it is only going to cost us
RV Rental (including the mileage charge) $4285 but we save the cost of motels on the way and can cook in the RV
gas (who knows how much!!) at least $400
stops at campgrounds.. around $300
total about $4985
THEN we are staying in the hotel in Kansas city.. plus the cost of the meetup.
LOL.. we could have flown cheapest..
But since we have the RV for 2 weeks, we are going to go thru Texas on the way home and meet my new grandson... AND BEST OF ALL, we can bring 4 yorkies with us!

Sounds lke it will be an adventure! I don't know if you know this, but Walmarts let RVs park overnight for free in their parking lots (so if you just need a place to park for the night, it maybe could save you some money!)

Yea, I do know that. I mentioned it to Mike and he gave me a funny look and said, naw.. we can stay in a campground. As long as he's paying.. lol

I just paid my registration, and I'm bringing my sister and T&T! They are pretty inseperable, so they both have to come! I can't tell you how excited I am about this.
