Pixie's New Brother, Bogey 4 Attachment(s) Bogey is home! And I must admit, he is the most beautiful dog... He is a handful though. He is very hyper... very, very hyper. Maybe he's just excited to be here. He's also very verbal, which is really funny at this point. See, Pixie is very quiet, almost all the time. Even when she needs to potty, she sits and stares at me. Not Bogey. Not even close. He talks, whines, barks, growls... I didn't know Yorkies made all those kinds of noises! LOL OH and he pants, too! Constantly. :D Pixie and he got along great until about half way home... I guess she realized he was coming home with us. She jumped into my lap and when he followed her, she nipped at him like, "MY MOMMY!" He whined for a minute, then he grabbed my arm off the steering wheel and started humping it. Where did THAT come from? From then on, the rest of the way home, it was a fight between her nipping at him for getting near me and him trying to hump my arm. NOT a fun trip. Now that we're home, things perked up. He has tried to hump her a few times, but I think it hurts her and she definitely lets him know about it. She's now taking a nap, and he's crawling all over my lap. He is so friendly and happy. LOL And noisy. He is also like twice her size... But she's only about 4 lbs and he's over 7.... He has also not been worked with much and needs some discipline. Nothing we can't handle... at least he's potty trained! We've already started with the whole, "if you sit and quit jumping all over me, I'll give you some hot dog" He has just given me my first kisses, too, so he's starting to settle down a bit. Although he's still "arruuu"-ing. His owners also gave me like a whole tub of toys! He's spoiled rotten already apparently! He didn't need my help there. Matter fact, I've opened the tub and dumped it out and he looked at me like I was nuts... and went off to play with Pixie. Anyway, I took some pictures of him.... enjoy! |

Yeah, Pixie's not doing real well, and you can tell. She's been in a lot of pain, and him messing with her doesn't help her any. Since we've been home, I let them play when she initiates it, but otherwise I've been kinda holding him back and leaving her alone. If nothing else, she needs the rest. Her surgery is Tuesday... maybe things will be better after that! I'm sure hoping so - she's dealing with a lot right now. Bogey has really been doing well. He is missing his family right now - he's been going back and forth between talking and whining... I'm giving him lots of extra love and attention while Pixie sleeps. I think he's going to be just fine though. They also told me that he isn't off-leash trained... but he was doing so well on the leash and "coming" indoors that I already started him offleash. He doesn't get more than about a foot from me unless I'm just letting them run and play. So he's doing really well with that. We'll get there ;) |
EVERYONE is adorable!! And LOL - LOVE the new shirt! That is so cute and SO true! :D :p |
Congratulations! He looks full of energy and imagine it will take a bit of time to adjust to the new surroundings. Hope your baby girl feels much better. She does look like she doesn't feel well. |
BOY are we TIRED! Bogey didn't sleep a wink last night! I don't know his "normal" sleeping patterns, but when it was bedtime, he jumped up on the bed with the rest of us like, "ME TOO!" We didn't object. Then he talked and paced and whined all night. And he had to get up to potty about 5 times. Whew. Today, I took him on in to see our vet and get a little checkup. I don't have his vaccination information, but I've got a call in to the old owner for that. He has also been holding his right eye like half shut. The vet said he's got some kind of little ulcer on his eye - unknown cause - but we're treating it. Other than that, he's a great, healthy dog. His eye looks horrible now - after the drops and stuff. You couldn't tell anything before the drops though except that he occassionally kept it half shut. The vet wants to see him again tomorrow to check his eye again and make sure it's not any worse. Hubby and I are really getting a kick out of him and his little verbosity. Arruuu aru arru aruuu aaaru. And then when someone knocks on the door, he doesn't even bark! He leaves that up to Pixie I guess - that's about the only time she DOES make noise. Anyway - I'll be busy with Pixie and her surgery and my school tomorrow, so Hubby will be taking Bogey in for me. I'll try to keep ya'll updated. :D |
Oh Kris!! How exciting...I need to read my e-mails and PM's sooner, lol. Where did Bogey come from??? I love his name... We started out naming Bogus, Bogey and it rhymed with Yogi and hubby thought it was silly, so we changed it to Bogus.... He looks so adorable and full of "wanting to play"... We miss Pixie...I just PM'd you. |
