| Here's Fudgie! So here's Fudgie. A couple before the haircut photos and a couple after. I don't think I did all that bad for not being a groomer! He's starting to grow on me, he's such a sweetheart. I took him to vet for a quick checkup today... He needs A LOT of dental work. The vet quoted $600!!! (That's including the neuter). Hopefully it won't end up being that much, but I'll find out next Wednesday when he goes in for surgery.... |

| A couple of him and Pixie playing.... In that last one Pixie looks bigger than Fudgie, but really, he's bigger than she is! She's 3.5 lbs and stands about an inch shorter than he. He weighed in at 4.6 lbs at the vet today. |

| Fudgie is the MAN! Nice lookin', even with your hair buzzzzed. Don't worry Fudgie....it'll grow back better and more beautiful than ever b/c your mom will take good care of ya and groom you every day! I brush Chewy every night before bed or sometimes in the afternoon and if I skip a day boy - the next day is like a major deal. Sometimes though after brushing it's like, "geesh! looks like I never brugh ya b/c you are all messy again!" At least it keeps him nice and clean.

Oh dear he was all matted when you got him? UGH. Well he'll have a nice home now, and he'll be so cute when his hair comes back all nice and fuzzy. What kind of clippers did you use on him? | |

| You guys are all so sweet.... It's nice to know there's people who care about these furbabies as much as I do! I hate getting looks from people who think you're crazy for caring about a dog so much! I haven't decided on a new name yet... Some suggestions were "Cracker Jack" "Pop Rocks" "Kit Kat" "Skittles" "Sour Patch Kids" "Hershey" "Tootsie Roll" "Lemonhead".... I'm leaning towards Craker Jack aka Jack or Pop Rocks aka Rockie. Not sure... I used my husband's clippers (just some cheapo thing from Walmart) and a man's moustache/beard trimmer to get the hard to reach places. Nothing special. I did nick him once or twice, but it wasn't bad. He's going to have a TON of hair, so I may just keep in a puppy cut for the sake of ease. I'll probably go and get a nice Oster clippers once it starts growing back. As far as his teeth go... The vet said there's two ways that can extract the puppy teeth. There's a cheaper way, but then I guess there'd be a risk of damaging permanent teeth and causing more problems down the line. The best way is more expensive (of course!). The only other vet in my area I trust charges almost double for vaccines, so I'm sure it wouldn't be any different for a dental.... He's retained almost every single one of his baby teeth. It's so crowded in there it's throwing his bite off and they may even have to pull a permanent canine on the bottom. If it keeps coming in at the angle it is, it'll grow straight up into the roof of his mouth! I'd rather just pay the money and have it done the right way with a vet I know and trust. Good thing for credit cards.... Sorry for rambling. I just like talking about my little family! |

| He is such a cutie! I think you did a great job on the grooming. I've heard it's hard to do a smooth shave down and his looks nice and even. I sympathize with you on the dental work. I just got a 16 month old little guy who had to have 13 extractions and his teeth were a mess (filthy!) My bill was $300 without a neuter but I know what you mean... you do what you have to do. Sugar was also a huge matted mess! I worked on him for 3 hours (not in a row) before taking him to be groomed and they still had to cut him in a puppy cut anyway because his hair was so damaged. Anyway, have fun! He's really a little doll! |
