| The Great Escape There it was. The Forbidden, my sweet dream of fun. Every time I went to visit my cousin Eddie, my Mom would start worrying about the WATER. Oh, we could go for walks around it and dance in the grass on the bank but no- she would never let me get in the WATER. She was always telling Eddie’s Mom that they should do something about the fence because little Yorkies could go right through. Well little did they know, I was just waiting for my chance. I got it on Easter Sunday- my Mom took me outside without my leash thinking she could trust me. Oh- she was right beside me the whole time, blocking me from the fence. What a dummy- doesn’t she know Yorkies are the masters of deception. We can look very cute and sweet but watch out. So it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and out we go to do our business. I immediately spy two boys across the WATER. Who do they think they are trespassing on my dream! It looked like they were throwing rocks. Well, I wasn’t going to let that happen. Before my Mom could react- off I went. FREE – I went through the fence so fast she couldn’t believe it. Trust me when I say, a well trained Labrador diving for prey couldn’t have had better form. I took off running and sailed through the air hitting the WATER at full speed. Never missed a beat either- just started swimming. Silly Mom, she didn’t even know I could swim. Well my friends, I have to say, at about 8 feet out, I had to admit maybe I had met my match. I mean it was my first time really swimming. I decided those boys could have their fun and turned around heading back for shore. Of course, my Mom was screaming HELP! KIMMEE COME BACK , HELP! KIMMEE, not knowing what to do. She couldn’t jump over the fence and was afraid to lose sight of me. Low and behold, her HERO just happened to be riding his bike across the water. Her son, the HERO, who lives one block away from Eddie’s Mom came racing over on his bike to help. Huh- help? who needs help, by then I was already out the water and running down the bank having a blast. Well wouldn’t you know he caught me dang it. Then my Mom was all upset and made me take a bath. I don’t know if I will get another chance to swim there because now they have but up chicken wire along the fence. Honestly, can’t a girl have some fun ![]() cast of characters: the Dream-Water, Cousin Eddie, Miss Kim, The Hero |

| What an adventure! Yes, Miss Kim, that water does look appealing! Makes you want to jump in! But don't you know you are so little you might get tired and not be able to make it back? Your poor mommie must have been really scared. Thank goodness the Hero came along! And I would think that any puppy that wanted to swim in that water so badly wouldn't be so upset about having to take a bath!! Why is it lakes, rivers etc (any outside water) is so appealing but bath water is so unappealing?? Answer me that Miss Kim!! |

| Donating YT 14K Club Member | KIMMEE!!!! Don't scare your mommy like that! I know that it's fun to swim in the big water but sometimes we have to resist those urges! I hope you gave your mommy lots of kisses to let her know you were okay and that you were sorry to scare her!
