| Yorkie or mixed? Hi everyone! I purchased my dexter in January. He will be 8 months in August. His paper work says he is a full bred Yorkie however he doesn’t look like all other Yorkies. Any help would be thankful. |

| I had a yorkie that was purebred and could have been registered with the AKC (I was too lazy and didn't care to register him). He did not look like a traditional yorkie because he had a soft coat that had kink to it, floppy ears, and he never finished breaking his puppy colors so he was black and gold most of his life. Not all yorkies will match the standard in terms of looks and size. You may just have a "pet quality" yorkie like I had. Nothing wrong with that! I loved him so much! He was a great dog.

| Yorkies of different looks I had 2 yorkies that looked completely different. One looked like the traditional yorkie while they other had a long pointed snout but had a beautiful silky coat. She had the yorkie colors and silky coat but her face looked like a little fox face. She weighs about 3.5 lbs and is now 16 years old. The more traditional looking yorkie passed away a month ago at 13 years of age. My old gal (Laci) and I miss her (Misha) very much and will soon be welcoming a new fur baby into the family. |
