crochet dress i made meesha 4 Attachment(s) Hey, I never crochet'd in my life before but followed instructions on youtube, all the clothes i bought meesha won't fit until shes an adult, i only have a couple of boyish sweaters that fit her now, so i made this pink crochet dress, meesha will only wear things that fit her well,if not they bother her, the neck is too big in this and it flops around on her, i can't read crochet instructions, anyone know how to tell me how to add on a fitted collar neck on this dress, , i want to make another one too with a better fitting neck and legs in it, anyone know any videos of that?, thanks.. heres some photos of it , u can see how big the neck is in the last photo, she played all morning so was in no mood to try this dress on lol, i had to chase her all over my bed trying to snap a pic with my iphone LOL..please ignore my messy bed its a lazy sunday and ignore meesha scraggly-ness she needs a bath and got bannana stuck to her fur haha! |
Wow! Nice work! Could you thread the ribbon through the edge of the neckline and draw it up a bit and tie it in a bow? (easier than adding a collar, lol) |

thank you:) its called Bijou's Candy Stripe Coat on youtube, I didn't switch the colors though to make it different color stripes like she did, it was too much for the first time crocheting for me, so i skipped that step and kept going with the same color, pink lol, then i added my own touches to it,glue guned rhinetone flowers for buttons and put some ribbon and bow on it. I used yarn that was meant to make baby clothes, really soft. she has a button dog sweater in her videos too going to try that one next, lol, she shows it in a way that if you've never crochetd before,u'd get it, which was great for me LOL messed up some areas, covered it with ribbon lol heres the link , theres like 10 parts to it.. |

thanks so much everyone:), and yes morkiemomma if i can do it, you deff can too,its just like a facecloth with belly strap and frills LOL, alot of pausing the video and it took me a couple hours which i broke down over a few days,and i skipped the changing the yarn color parts because it was too complicated for me.. but hopefully i'll get faster and learn to do more,whoever the woman is in the video dose a good job at showing how to do it, so its thanks to her lol:) |
oh and kjc, i used the ribbon for the neck to make it tighter it looks great!!:) thanks so much for the suggestion, it now dosen't bother my meesha anymore:) |

Your first project is fantastic. I have seen that video and I like it. I haven't tried to make it yet. I'm afraid that if I make it, then it won't fit my dogs. I think the sizes she has listed are a little bit big, but I'm not confident enough to change any of the stitches to make a smaller size on my own. You have inspired me to try because I have at least crocheted a few times. I have crocheted, but I've never made anything except various sizes of rectangles. I sew a lot, and I love the speed of cutting out fabric and sewing it together. It takes a long time for me to crochet so I haven't gotten into it yet. |

thanks eveyone:),i'm suprised i was even actually able to make this, i usually just like to buy stuff because its quick and easyer lol, but i couldnt find anything girly for meesha ,my sewing machine is broke, so thought i'd give this a shot..qtyorkies yes the neck is too big because i used how many stitches she said for the xs, after i realised it was too big i just stated wrapping a piece of yarn around meesha cutting it, and going by that rather than follow her stitch count, i don't have the patients to count either so alot of it was guesstimation,LOL,n it dose take a long time, make sure to pick a soft comfy yarn though i started off with a different yarn and it was too stiff...n thanks princesmom, i can't read patterns but maybe they can help me out there with questions. |
There's a 'Learn to crochet' kit you can buy, around $10.00... teaches all the basics... including how to read charts and patterns... WalMart or Ebay has it, to name a few. |
