| Update on Bella's Arrival! Hi everyone, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did! Especially since my little Bella girl has arrived. My DH and family blindfolded me and brought her out. She even had a little bow on - so cute! I couldn't help but cry when I saw her. Just one of the happiest moments of my life. So it's been a couple of days now and Bella is adjusting to her new home pretty well. She's already become quite fond of her crate and pen area, where we have her food and potty areas set up. She has been eating a bit here and there. We're keeping her on the same diet the breeder had her on, and she doesn't seem to mind. I aim to feed her consistently in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We've also already started some training with "sit" and treats, which she loves. She has been doing so well on her potty pads and she does frequently, which I am happy about. She's only had 1-2 minor accidents and we've corrected her to the pad and praised her for following through. The first day/night she was here she slept mostly all day. The first night was the surprise of a lifetime, as she slept the entire night through without an ounce of whining. The second night... not so much. Last night was a bit better though. We put her in her crate and say "bed time" but she will try to start playing, so we kind of repeat as needed and eventually she seems to get the hint. We have her in our bedroom at the foot of our bed and we're sleeping on the opposite end so she knows we're nearby. She naps quite a bit, which I expect is normal for a puppy at 12 weeks. New pictures posted below! Will update more again soon. Jessica & Bella |
