I might be one of those who loves yorkie in full coat. Et voila, here I update Kenzo's pics. He is such a good boy coz he lets me wrap him. I am sure there must be one of you who loves dog show coat :)

Beautiful coat. My pups and I just don't have time or patience ;). We are always on the go. But what a pretty boy you have.

His coat is gorgeous. Mine all ahve long coats but we don't do the wrapping.

Gorgeous Coat! My Cola would have a fit if i did that though. That's why I keep his coat short. Oh, and I'm lazy. haha.

he's really a good boy and likes to be wrapped...my girl is smart removing her wrappings... how old is kenzo? my yorkies haven't reached floor length yet...

Wow what a gorgeous coat I just chopped off half of Faiths I could not imagine the time it takes to keep such a beautiful coat that perfect.

They wrap the coat to protect a show dog's coat from breakage. The show dog's coat has to be at least floor length I believe, and this also helps keep it from getting knotted or snarled or dirty when they are so long. At least that is what I've read. Mine is still in her original puppy coat so I don't have to do that. I might later but I dunno.

He will be 5 years old and 3 months this Sept 12. It takes about almost 2 years to grow his hair till floor lenght.

Hope to see your baby's pics in full coat too :)

It's a very good question. I asked before the same question at the beginning, so we all started from there and there will never be a stupid question :)

The wrapping is to protect the hair from breaking. Imagine the length of the hair is longer that the body and if you let your yorkie walk without wrapping it, the asphalt will be an abbressive to the hair, so the hair will be broken and it will never grow.

Since Kenzo's hair is longer than his body now, so it's very important to wrap it. There is another technique you can use. You don't have to wrap it all over but you can just put elactics on those long hair as long as it doesn't reach the floor when he walks in order to protect his hair from breaking.

Hope my explanation is lucid enough. If not, please never hesitate to ask. I'll be glad to answer all your questions.

I shaved my dogs when they were puppies... will probably have to wait longer than 2 years... :) i am already practicing wrapping the coat... sometimes just banding when i get lazy... lol... it's great that kenzo doesn't remove the wrappings... hope my dogs are as good as kenzo...

Well I don't wrap him all the time, sometimes when I'm lazy I am only banding him too, and it's good also as long as his hair doesn't drag when I take him walk outside.

Well I think it's a question of time, when your babies uses to it, they will not remove the wrappings.

thanks... i think i'll be waiting for 2 more years... did you know it took me 2 hours to just wrap her face? lol... my friend told me that when i practice more, the 2 hours will be less...

Don't worry, at the beginning it took me 2 to 3 hours to wrap him all over and now it takes me only 1 to 1 1/2 hours. You'll do it faster one day. Just practice and practice. When his hair is long enough, it'll be easier to wrap her. ;)
