Update Everyone, I just wanted to let you all know how I am doing.. Its been 5 days since that tragic accident... I still think of Mocha often but now I can laugh at all the funny things she did... I haven't cried in 2 days... I have been keeping myself busy.. Actually, I just got back from a walk.. My friend and I would take her Maltese Sophie and Mocha out for a walk every Thursday night... Since it is Thursday we decided to do it tonight.. I walked Sophie and she walked Max her other Maltese.. It was my way of greiveing... I was in the park yesterday and saw 2 yorkies (one was 6 months and I told the guy my story and he was like, wow, i never take her harness off but now he's planning on removing the harness) The 2nd yorkie was great too.. Her owner let me pick her up and hold her!! It brough some comfort.. I just hope the other 2 ladies (Figment and Ladyof yorkies) are hanging in there... I am in the process of trying to make a memorial page to Mocha (with the help and Villette) and once i have it, i will post it.. Once again, you all have been fantastic.. I tell everyone I see the reason why I am coping so well is because of the wonderful group of friends I have on this site.. I will never leave YT unless ADMIN suspends me!! |
I am glad to hear that you are doing better...I have been thinking and praying for you and the others...I can not even imagine the pain you are going through, but I hope that something good comes out of it!! I am glad that you were about to go out on a walk with your friend and enjoy the yorkies at the park, that is a step in the right direction!!! Your will remain in my prayers and on my heart... |
Awww,. I am so glad to hear you have found comfort in your friends and other fur babies. Bless your heart!! |
I'm thankful to hear that you're doing well. It's great that you can remember the good times and what a joy she was in your life. I'm so glad you're not going to leave us! You're such a vital part of our group and YT wouldn't be YT without ya! |
I got my Yorkie the day Mocha died and I haven't put a collar or harness on her since reading your post. She is tiny so she has to be in her pen a lot and after your accident I am going to be extra cautious. I just want you to know that I (and probably others) learned through your loss and sharing your story with others will save lives. I also read that you are questioning whether you will own another Yorkie. That is certainly a private decision but I hope you don't base it on what happened. Yorkies are not very independent compared to other dogs but that is part of what makes them so loveable. Just don't deny yourself the joy you describe when you held that dog in the park. I have owned many dogs but nothing is like this experience. Best wishes and continued healing to you. |
Oh Brooke- YOu are sooo strong! I am so glad to hear that you are doing well! Just keep hanging in there and remembering Mocha for all of the joy that she brought into your life! |
Glad to hear that you are doing better. Things like this just take time. You're still in my thoughts and prayers. :) |
Mocha God bless you! I hope you decide to get another one when the time is right. :) |
I'm glad to hear we are of some help in helping you cope. Mocha will always be your little angel watching over you. |
I am so glad to hear from you! I am glad that you are feeling better. |

Mocha's Memorial Page is wonderful - I just went and paid tribute to her there - She knows you love her....I hope each day gets better for you and the others who lost their babies.. |
Brooke, you're doing a wonderful job of coping with the accident! We're all so proud of you. Believe me, your strength has helped us too. I'm so glad you have a good friend there close to comfort you. You've been in my prayers so much. Hang in there dear. We're here for ya! |
Sounds like the healing has begun. Think about it, just holding and seeing another yorkie did you good! One day your heart will mend and you will forgive yourself. When that day comes I bet you will want another one! You are still in our prayers - Lida Rose sends puppy kisses! Windy and Lida Rose |
Bless your heart. God will never put more on you, than you can bear. Each day your healing will progress. One day the hurt will be gone, but the memories will always be with you. |
Brooke, I am so glad you are doing ok. It will take a while for you to heal. But it sounds like you're coping. Going with your neighbor on your usual walk was a nice step forward. That takes a tremendous amount of strength. And talking about it helps. Your YT friends as you know are here for you. Take care, ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |
In case anyone missed this - Bettyanne (Toto's mom) donated $$ to keep Mocha's Page up for a year - She didn't post this ....but I asked her if I could... and she said yes....What a GREAT thing for her to do !! Bettyanne - That was so nice of you and I know Brooke will be so touched when she finds out - it goes to show how many really great people there are in the world !!! |
I sent Bettyanne a PM but I am so touched that someone would do such a wonderful thing.. I cried when i read that.. YT is just like my second family and I never want to leave.. You all have been such a source of strenth for me during this hard time!! |
I cried when I read what Bettyanne did, that is so very special. Not only are our yorkies little angels but so are their owners. The page is really nice, what a great thing to do. I knew this place was special! I knew YT members were special as well. Yeah, Bettyanne, God has a very special place for you, surrounded by puppies! Windy and Lida Rose |
Special people for special angels. Healing is a day-by-day thing. Good luck. :) |
