I am so sorry for your loss. Last month our 3 month old puppy died, just a month after we got him. The pain was unbearable for those first few weeks. I'm glad you found Yorkie Talk, because it is the one thing that helped me to heal. Your girl will always live on in your heart and she was blessed to have you while she did. Come back here often and post your thoughts and feelings, it really does help. It's the one place I found where I wasn't afraid people would think I was crazy for mourning a puppy so badly. You will get through this, but you have to give it some time. Try to remember the happy times and put a picture or other memento out where you can see it and think of her often. (Although I'm sure right now you think of nothing but her!) I will keep you in my prayers.

Sunday she was just fine and then Monday morning I found her just laying in her room not responding to me the way she always does. She was drooling and acting very confused. My vet suspected a portosystemic shunt or liver shunt which means that blood vessels are suppose to go through the liver to be filtered before entering the heart. I sat there with her lifeless body in my arms for an hour crying and tried to tell her goodbye. An autopsy is being performed as we speak for a true cause of death. I am still a mess. I was in love with Lucy. When I would come home from work she would pass my husband and come straight to me for hugs and kisses. She slept with me most of the time. A very cuddly dog. I got her when she was 4 months old and we made an instant connection. My heart is broken and it's hard to go home or do anything because everything reminds me of her. I took her everywhere. I will get her ashes sometime next week. It just hurts my heart so much.
