| Hello everyone. I’ve not posted here since Jax joined our family. I guess I’m here today because I’m hurting and just wanted to vent. Jax passed away Saturday night at just 6 years old. Our world has been turned upside down. His death is the result of bad breeding. I realize that now. I’m devastated. When Jax was 6 months old he was diagnosed with a condition affecting his rear legs. The condition made it hard for him to walk without a limp. The Vet recommended getting a refund. I’m not that way. I loved this boy and no one was taking him back. We kept Jax he was our family. About a year later he developed a severe skin condition that affected his paws. The skin around his paws stayed swelled so bad you couldn’t see his pads. Inflamed and red. This did not bother him getting around and did not hurt him but another severe condition just the same. Nothing the vet could do but prescribe monthly medication. His skin condition also affected his eyes crusting over. We had to constantly clean his eyes. Again, he was still a happy puppy. When Jax was about 2 1/2 years old he was diagnosed with diabetes. He did really well with the diabetes all the way up until his death this past Saturday. He was on insulin twice a day and the diabetes was controlled. About three months ago he was diagnosed with collapsed trachea. (Just like max was and he was sold by the same breeder) X-rays showed the trachea to be mild at the time. Gradually started coughing a little worse and panting. my vet also thought he had cushings disease. We were going to have him tested next visit. That visit never happened. Over the weekend Jax started panting excessively and would not rest. We rushed him to the ER and the vet said his trachea had completely collapsed. The vet said there was no hope to save him. We couldn’t do a stint because our personal vet said he’d never live through the surgery because of all his other issues. The ER vet agreed with that diagnosis. We had to do something I swore I’d never do. And that was put him to sleep. I only hope he forgives me. He was such a happy little boy even with all his medical problems, he was always happy. I won’t get over this one so easy. Just a little reminder. Always know your breeders. I thought I knew this one. I was wrong. Thank you all for lending an ear. I feel better. |

| I am so very sorry for your loss. Poor lil guy went through a lot in his short life. He was loved much, you did all you could do to keep him as healthy as possible. There are no words that will ease your pain, but take peace knowing you did the right thing and he is now pain free running and playing with all of our babies at Rainbow Bridge
