I am so sorry to read about your loss of Truffles. Your fur baby will always be in your heart. Hopefully you do go on and give another furbaby a wonderful home. My husband and I lost our very much loved Keally and six months later we were blessed with another from a wonderful breeder. We named her Kinder and what a joy to have that love from a yorkie again. Take care of and remember you gave Truffles a great life and now you have those memories in your heart forever. Also welcome to YT. Susan

I don't think anyone can really decide the right time to add another little one after a loss. Most people I know who waited a long time regretted it, though. When we lost our first Yorkie I didn't think I'd be ready to bring another one into our lives. The breeder we had gotten our first one from had just had a litter, and my husband was anxious to get one, so I agreed. We had several weeks without having a little one with us, but the anticipation of bringing Ashley home once she was old enough gave me something to hope for. It didn't change the grief we felt over losing Jolie, but Ashley brought such joy into our lives and she definitely made it easier to cope with our loss. I didn't think I was ready, but Ashley completely stole my heart and coincidentally, we brought her home on Jolie's birthday. Ashley was with us for almost seventeen years, and I know no one could ever take her place. I feel the same way about Jolie and Kiwi and Gracie, Ashley’s two sisters. It has been way too long for us living in a home that is far too quiet. If I we were able to, it would have been far better for us to add another puppy to our lives. Loving another puppy couldn't possibly take anything away from the love we feel for our little girls. The pain of loss will always be there, but focusing on a new life and another little one definitely helps. Nothing will ever take away the love and bond you feel for your loved one. Try not to feel guilty for thinking of another little one to love.

Mollysmom...I would love to get you in touch with my mom (I need to get her on this forum). My mom's name is Debbie as well and ironically her new little girl is named molly. My mom was so heartsick after Cody passed. Cody had congestive heart failure and had difficulty breathing as well He was my mom's little buddy and followed her everywhere. She cried every time she thought about him or saw another yorkie. She got Max a week before Cody passed away and 2 monthls later got Molly. The two new yorkies (max & molly) are definitely help keep her busy but they will never replace her Cody. Time will help heal...but your Molly will always have a special place in your heart. Thinking of you

When I lost my Molly in October, we adopted a 5 year old Yorkie Girl (Willow) in November from a Rescue Group. Then I lost my Annie on New Years Eve. I'm still trying to get over that one. Just know that it will take time. Truffles will always be a part of life and will always remain in yur heart.

I lost my Jilly on Christmas Eve 7 years ago and it still hurts that she is gone. I waited 5 long years B4 finding Tibbe. I did just not want any other dog but Jilly - only Jilly. After bringing Tibbe home I immediately knew I had needlessly caused myself years of lonliness and and that despite how much I still wanted Jilly - I now wanted Tibbe just as much. He needed me and oh, I needed him. Hopefully the Spring will bring you some relief from the pain and maybe even a new and needy little Yorkie to lavish with love and a great home. There's probably a little girl out there right now wishing for help.
