Fostering a Yorkie! Does any one know of a good Yorkie Rescue I could foster for? I would love to foster a Yorkie in my home must be good with dogs and cats. |
I don't know about a Yorkie, but Save a Pet is always looking for Foster parents for their dogs, especially the little ones or puppies. A yorkie came in a month or so ago but one of the workers is fostering her. If you want more info let me know. I fostered a pom puppy for them in December. |
Patti, I am actually a volunteer at Save a Pet! I was thinking about fostering there but they rarely have a lot of small dogs mostly large and I can only foster dogs like under 20lbs. I am suprised you said you fostered a pomeranian puppy! It is very very rare that they have little "designer breeds" or highly sought after dogs like poms, or Yorkies there but I guess if more fosters became available for little dogs they might be able to save more. Do you happen to know the name of the person fostering the Yorkie at Save a Pet because I'd be very interested in potentially learning more about it and maybe adopting it in the future when it's ready. I love all dogs but especially Peekapoos and Yorkies they are my favorites! Thanks, Ashley (aka) PeekapooLuver:) |
The only one I know of is Yorkie Haven Rescue I'm not sure if they need Foster Parents, best of luck to you, we need more like you! |
I belong to Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue, Inc. and have fostered many Yorkie'sPlease go tothere web site and let me know if you need help |

Actually I found out the worker at Save a Pet who has the yorkie foster has her (Pippie) on permanent foster because she does have a lot of health problems! She's not going to be adoptable!:animal-pa |
I know this is an old post, but I am new to the site and would like to add that Petite Paws Rescue Angels is ALWAYS looking for fosters. The rescue covers IN, OH, a couple in IL, a couple in MI, and I believe one in WI. www.petitepaws.us and yes, the site is a little rough, the founder doesn't like to 'change' that much. lol. |
