I am so glad it's over for both of you. Way to go Daisy. I hope she can come home tonight but be prepared for an over night stay. It may be better for her to just rest there until morning. Good luck, |
I just seen this!!! I am glad that her surgery went well! Please update when she gets home. I know Mojo was pretty tired (groggy) from his neuter and teeth cleaning, etc. But he was bouncy and hyper the next day! Sending hugs your way! :justahug: |
I'm it's all over for Daisy Mae! Poor baby, I know right now she feels rough, but in a couple days she'll be back to normal. Lucy and Rebel send her big 'ole sloppy get well kisses:kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: |
Oh Do you all think it is right ... They don't have anyone at the vets at night. So I am pressuring them alittle to send her home. I just feel it is better that if no one is there to watch her than she sould be with me.... what do you think? |
I think I would rather have her home with me where she could be watched. If no one is going to be there to watch her then what's the point of her staying overnight? |

Thats what I told the VT and she agreed with me. So I am sure I'll be picking her up. I'll let you all know. |
I was lucky with my vet....they know how I am with the dogs and how anal I am. In fact, when Mojo went in, they offered for me to come back with him and watch them...I didn't (kicking myself in the behind now) because I just didn't think I could stand it. They called right when he was finished and told me everything...I picked him up a few hours after that. I agree.....at our vet, there is no one there to watch them at night....I so think they do better in the comfort of their own home after such an ordeal, then spending a night in a cold lonely crate in a strange place!!! |

Oh and after I get home I will post the cost.... They are great on the Prices too;) |
I am glad that her surgery went well! Hope everything goes well tonight as well. Take care of yourself and her...I am sure she'll do better hom with you than on her own at the vet. Kisses and hugs for her recovery. Maria |
Help! Ok I have a delema ... I called to see if they would let her come home..... The vet wants her to stay.. She said the only way I could come get her is if I can keep her really really quiet.. well as most of you know we have a 7 month old pup and my house really is far from quiet... I am trying to talk myself into going to get her and trying to talk my self out of it too.... Should I leave her there so she is in a place she don't know or go get her and lock myself in my room and cuddle with her? |
I say go and get her. She'll be more comfortable in her own surroundings. Do you have a laptop? If so, you can do like I am doing with Britney.. climb into bed with her and type away on the laptop! :D |
I agree with Kyle...go and get that baby girl! Although, you do need to do what is best for her...so, if you think she will do better there (alone) at the vets office, leave her....BUT if you think you can keep her quiet, etc at home, I think she would be more comfortable and less stressed (which is much needed for her). AND the plus side, you will be less stressed too! Big hugs to you and that little girl!!! :justahug: |

I am Glad your Britney is do so well :) |
If nobody is at the vet's overnight, please go get her. It is extremely dangerous to leave them unattended there. I know of a dog (a long time ago) who died at a vet's office since it had an accident and the vet left it unattended overnight before surgery. It bled to death. I don't want to scare you but that is why I am always so persistent about bringing animals home. Hopefully you have an er vet handy just in case. |
We are leaveing now I wil update as soon as I can. And yes we do have a er vet it is a little drive but, I want her here so she wont be stressed. She gets stressed to easy. |
I'm glad the surgery went well! I wouldn't leave her overnight either if there was no one to watch her. If there is someone there, then I'd do it but there is no point when no one is there to watch. What I did with Lacy was put her in her crate with a blanket over it until the next morning. I let her out to potty a couple times on a leash and then put her back in there to sleep. I kept the crate in a room with the door shut and lights off so it was quiet and darker and she just slept the whole time. Can you do something like that with Daisy? |
Hi all we are home. Daisy I think is happier here with me. she is all wrapped up in her blanket from our GE buddy ;) |
Lori, I am only now seeing your update on Daisy Mae. Honey, you sound so worried about her. I think if you leave her there overnight, you will have no sleep whatsoever worrying about her being alone and stressed. If you can keep her very quiet at home, I am sure it would be so soothing for the BOTH of you to be together. Perhaps you could take her back in the morning for the Vet to confirm that all is well with her wound. Sending huge hugs to you and your little girl, Lauren:ghug: |
Lori, Just now saw your post. Glad everything is going well. Still in my thoughts during the recovery time!! Kathy and gang in Kansas! |
Just saw your post. Hope all is well with both you and Daisy Mae. Keep us posted. |
So far so good... Other than I can't get her to take her meds:( |
Is it a pill? Maybe if you stuck it in some a piece of cheese. That always works for me two. |

sending prayers for Daisy mae from Daisy and I!! :D |
I'm just seeing this thread and so glad Daisy did well through the surgery and is home with you! If I'd been on sooner, I would have also told you to go get her. They need to be amongst loved ones and familiar surroundings. As far as the pill, if you still haven't gotten her to take it, here's something you could try. Take two spoons...put the pill in one spoon...place the other spoon over the spoon with the pill in it...grind the spoons together to crush up the pill. Then just open Daisy's mouth and pour it in. It works great for me. No way can I get Maddie to take a pill! Get well kisses to your little sweetie!!! So glad this is all behind you! *HUG* |

they only ever get it if they need to take a pill so.. it is like christmas to them.. I should have gotten some before I brought her home... |
 Glad to hear everything went well yesterday and she didn't have to stay overnite! Hope that little sweetpea is feeling better today! Give her kisses from Toto. ;) |
Good morning Lori! I just found this thread and am glad to hear that your were able to take Daisy home yesterday. It just doesn't make sense to have them stay overnight with no one there with them. They say she should be kept quite??? What happens at the vets office if they start to fret about being in a strange place overnight, added to the fact that they don't feel well? I can't imagine they'd be very "calm" in that situation. So yea, going home with mom and familiar surroundings seems like a much calmer and soothing place to be. Hope all is well this morning---sending her kisses from me and the kids:kiss2wm: , and a hug for you :big_hug: I am so glad we were able to meet yesterday and hope that our friendship continues! :friendsh: |
prayers Prayers go out to Daisy Mae....From Tiki and Tiki's Mom! You will do just fine....She will just need lots of babying when she gets home from momma!:) |
Hi Lori, how was Daisy last night? Hope that everything is ok today...Hugs Maria |
