Well this is almost a sore spot here. My DH thinks I baby Diesel too much. But oh well... Diesel is a lot like many here. He is spoiled rotten and I know I wouldn't want him any other way! My dh can get mad all he wants... :D |
Yorkies are like no other "dog" I've ever had in my life before. My girls ARE my babies and no one can tell me different!! |
I also agree. I grew up in a household with lots of different types of dogs. I myself have owned a few as an adult and a yorkshire terrier is the most human I've ever come across. Sometimes just looking at her I feel like I'm looking at a little 2-3 year old girl. It's hard to explain but I'm sure most of you know the feeling. |
I tell people that Lily is the daughter I never had. I get the " Why are your buying her clothes? Why are you getting her premo quality food? Why are you spoling her? " To which I respond, "Because shes my daughter. Shutup. " Truth be told, I like Lily LOTS better than the silly humans asking me all those dumb questions! :D And with Lily, theres no talking back ( heh, usually!) no worries about if shes doing her homework or how her grades are, if shes keeping her room clean, spending too much time on the comp., what kind of friends she has. She hardly ever asks to borrow the car or if she can get the latest PlayStation! My hubby and I were talking about whether we should have another skin kid ( our son is almost 18 ) or get a fur baby. I think we made the right decision! :aimeeyork |

Take it from me, especially since I'm older than anyone else on YT, that Yorkies ARE real kids!!! Here is why I think this. I've had many dogs in my life and I have fostered many more. I have NEVER in my entire life had a mother-child-like connection to any other breed as I do these little Yorkster kids. It's very difficult not wanting to buy them clothes and toys like you would your own skin kids, it's very difficult leaving them in the house without supervision when I can't take them, and the big thing here is I have NEVER slept with a dog in my life..........till now!! :D I don't question why I feel as though they are my little daughtes, I just enjoy every day with them. :D |
Yorkies rock! I have always had a dog, mixed breeds all my life. I was sold on poodles, had three in my married life. 2.5 years ago, I lost my last poodle, and four days later, a friend's boss GIFTED me with her Yorkie, Chelsea. I thought Poodles were smart, but now I believe Yorkies are the smartest. Chelsea has stolen my heart, and I probably will always have a Yorkie. I have two grown skin kids, love them dearly, but I have come to realize sweet babies become teens/aliens, and a Yorkie doesnt. YORKIES ROCK! |

Yes, Yes, Yes to all the above! I have also had other furkids, loved them all to bits, but there is nothing like a yorkie. Others will never understand this until they've had one:p |
hahaha ya man all my friends who have dogs.. their dogs act like DOGS!! princess is soooooooooo needy and cries all the time to be held or played with... i have to watch her 24/7..i thought by the time shes an adult (2 yrs old) i wouldnt have to watch her as much but NOPE! but i love her to death and wouldnt change her for the world :) |
IM so glad Im not alone in this. I felt kind of silly posting it, but I can see that all of you understand. I agree with the poster who said there is almost a mother child connection. I dont like to be away from her even for a night and I worry if anyone else is taking care of her. I worry so much about her mostly because she seems to depend on me so much. "Whenever she feels sick, she climbs on me as if to say, "Mommy, make it better, it just melts my heart." My Cinnamon originally belonged to my son and his fiance and they would keep her for awhile and then when they couldnt take care of her, they would bring her to me. This went on for over a year and a half. Each time they took her back, I felt like my heart was broken. I would think about her all the time. They loved her too and treated her well, but for some reason, I knew she belonged to me, that we had a special connection. Laura |
My ex boyfriend gets mad at me and says I spoil Aurora and treat her like a baby. She won't eat her oatmeal in the morning unless I put it on her baby spoon for her. She eats the rest of her food out of her bowl except her applesauce. I homecook for her and I hardly cook for the humans in the house...LOL. I have to break her treats in peices even if they are soft. I can't walk anywhere without her on my heels. She sleeps by the tub while I take a bath and she has to be in there while I go bathroom as well. If I shut the door, she whines like crazy. She thinks my ex boyfriend's daughter's car seat is hers, she sits in it all the time. We try to do the crate at night, but its hard on us both. She is happiest when she gets to sleep with me. When she wants to play, thats what she wants to do. She doesn't care if I am in the mood or not. She also can be sweet and want to snuggle. I can go on about ways she is like a child to me. She is my baby and always will be. |
OMG, my ex was visiting the 'kids' yesterday and as he watched them interact with me he said, "You know, Yorkies aren't like other dogs are they? They act like human babies and it's so obvious that you are their mom." And the other day at work I was talking about postponing Kalani's surgery to pull his baby teeth and instead working more on brushing and even flossing and one of my employees looked at the others with this expression of 'What did she say?!?' and several of them said at the same time "Oh, you have to meet her two - they aren't dogs, they are her babies." |
Its funny- yesterday I had LExie at my mom's house and she says to me "Kris, she is NOT a baby- she is a DOG!" I say to her, Lexie IS MY BABY and I wouldn't have it any other way!! I love her to pieces!! |
Yep I agree totally !!! My Baby Boy follows me everywhere i go. If i have to use the restroom or take a bath he follows me right in to the bathroom and sits and stares!! lol I constantly have to watch him cause he is ALWAYS getting into things! and i agree with the other poster. they hear WHAT THEY WANT TO!!!!! you say treat or walk. mine comes running at me so fast... i say NO don't chew on that or No doing business in the house he turns his back to me! but i LOVE him very much. He is my son. I can't have kids... So God blessed me with my furbaby son!!!!!! |
