Okay I am embarrassed to admit this BUT I have a California King bed....BUT I am currently sleeping on 2 single matresses pushed together in my livingroom floor BECAUSE I am too afraid Diggy will fall off the bed. He is way clutsy and falls over when he turns his head too fast so I drug the matresses from my sons old bunk bed into my living room and this is where we sleep:eek: Everyday when I get up for work I put the babies in their beds and stack the matresses and make them up like they are actual furniture in my livingroom :p the kids love it they have a permanent flop place right in the hang out room! Plus my bed is upstairs and I get sooo nervous when the fur butts fly up and down the stairs this way it keeps down on the up and down the stairs. Sad story but very true we are all 3 on the matresses as I type! |
I bought a wicket bed for Gypsy and placed in on a box so the base is the same height as my mattress. It's near my head and has a pillow with a matching pillow case that gets washed with ours so it smells the same. She sleeps on the bed but when she thinks I'm asleep she goes and gets in her bit of the bed, then comes back in the morning! :D |
with 5 dogs we finally got a king size bed, that didnt help they all liked their spots no matter what size the bed was. now we kennel them at night on a shelf right next to our bed so they know we are there but still get comfy sleep. at first they werent to carzy about it but we would throw in treats so they would go in now they just know when i say kennel they go in and snuggle with their blankies and a toy. now if only i could figure out what to do about hubby rolling around and beating me up in his sleep life would be good hehe. |
Well, I can't help. I sleep with two. I woke this morning unable to move. My left shoulder hurts so bad. I was up at 4 am and got out the heating pad, but it's still so stiff. I've been putting workout gel on it, so I am hoping it will help. I gotta go to work at 11 a.m. If you find a way this works for you, PLEASE PM me!!! |

HAHAHAH that is hilarious!!! You are so funny :) |
This is my sob story. lol Gizmo has been in a playpen right next to our queen-sized bed since the first night we brought him home. It's fine, no problem. But now that we have stairs to the bed and he is pee pad trained (somewhat) we tried letting him sleep with us. Last night he woke us up trying to get INTO his playpen!! The reason? I think we snore too loudly. |
I was thinking about getting a playpen for them to sleep in. Or perhaps take the other advice to put their beds up at bed level. I just don't know. I'll probably just keep thinking about it and never do anything  |
I think you should move around and give them a shove or two at night. I do not compensate comfort for Rocky or he will take advantage. I sleep on my stomach and he likes to be in between my legs. A couple night I would move around as if he werent their (made sure not to hurt him) and toss him around. By the second night he got fed up and now sleeps at the end of the bed so he wont get tossed around. |
I am so glad to read all these sleepless stories, for I thought we just had spoiled dogs!! We first got Harley..He slept in hubby's armpit (I know gross) but it did not bother me. We then got Davie, she sleeps like a log (she weighs almost 5 pounds) and wherever she falls asleep, that is where is is for the night, on my legs, in the middle of my spot, too close to the edge, but that is where is was. Will along came Lexie and after 1 night with the 3 in bed with us we looked at each other and said we need to fix this. Well, we crated all three and we had tears for about 2 nights, now they go in their beds and we don't even shut the doors, it's just where they sleep, whenever they want to. We get a lot better sleep now!!! |
We have this problem too. Emma sleeps with us, but I'd like her not to...but I don't know who would be harder to convince of this-Emma or my husband! Milli sleeps in her x-pen. We used to crate her next to the bed but she cried hard and barked at night-I think because she has to wake up to pee. We started putting her in the pen at night, so she can get up to pee on her own. That works, but many nights she still cries at some point. The rule is that if she cries before 5, she gets put in her crate downstairs where we can't hear her until breakfast at 5:30. If she cries after 5, she comes in bed with us for the next 1/2 hour, or I just get them both up and feed them, depending on my mood that day! When Milli is older, I'd like for both she and Emma to sleep in their own beds on the floor. I was thinking I'd start them both out in beds in the x-pen first, and then open the gate to it to see if they'd stay in it. Make sure you put them in PJ's before bed-I swear it makes them sleep longer-and give them an old T-shirt that you've worn so they can smell you. Hope that helps you....I think you're in for a few nights of crying, but don't give in or you'll never get your bed back! |
LOL It sounds like you need a king sized bed. |
I feel your pain I have actually been through this, we have 5 furbabies and they used to all sleep with hubby and me. However they all slept around me and never bothered hubby, Prissie slept on my shoulder, on my head or over my neck (my own personal scarf :) ), Miko slept at my stomach, Might slept at my back, Kylie slept in between my legs, and Kosmo slept anywhere he would fit. Well, needless to say I woke up with bad neck and back pain so we had to make a change. Keep in mind that Miko, my very first furbaby, was 4 yrs old at the time and had been sleeping with us since the day we brought him home. Anyway we put a loveseat, a few kennels with their doors open and 4 dog beds in one of our bedrooms and put all of them in there with a baby gate. We also put a tv in there and left it on a music station for them. I also bought them something that you plug into an outlet and it releases pheromones into the air to calm them, I can't remember what it is called. They were not at all happy the first couple of nights, but then they did get used to it, it has been approx. 1 1/2 years now. Hope this helps. Good Luck! |

Whew I\'m not getting old just yet, lol. I have 3 Yorkies and a border collie who sleep in my bed and I\'m going to need a king size bed soon because I\'m going to be keeping one of my puppies and I\'m sure the little princess will want her share of the bed too. |
Lol, I just had to buy a bigger bed so that the furbabies would have more space. I\'ve taken the bed frame away and now sleep on the mattress on the floor because I was afraid of them falling off :lol tears |
I had the same problem! I now put Lucy and Reble in a huge crate filled with their blankies and toys every night in the living room. They love it. They cried a little the first night, but now when I say "Let\'s go to bed", both will walk in and lay down. I felt really guilty until I realized THEY sleep better, too. |
