My puppy doesnt eat as much anymore.... My dega is 4 months old today and he is a great dog but he isnt eating as much as he did when i first got him. But he had energy and he is very playful nothing has really changed and him. Is this normal???? Thanks for the help STEPHANIE |
food Hello, My doggie did that as well when she was younger. I took her to the vet and he recommended I change her diet. I put her on Royal Canine, and she loved it. The only bad thing about Royal Canine is that your dog may become itchy. I have been feeding my dog Royal for about 6 months now and the first 4 were fine and she loved the food, but recently I noticed that she itchy all the time. I heard it is a allergic reaction to the food. However not every dog gets it so you may want to try, I have heard that all dogs love this food. Good luck. |
Zoey is going through the same, i give her wellness and she loved it for months but now she looks at it and then looks at me lol like what the heck lady lol. i think im going to try and mix wellness with merrick for her my dad brang me a sample the other day and she ate her food. one thing i do know puppies get pretty picky after a while lol.. good luck |
...my comet stopped eating as much when his growth spurts began to slow down. They eat alot to help them grow. As they reach their peak in size (especially if they are smaller in size) they tend to eat less. This happened to my comet. He is six months old and does not eat as much as he used to. he is perfectly fine, and is 8 pounds. |

Maggie is 4 months old too. She has done the reverse of your baby. When we got her, she went on a starvation diet. I nearly worried myself sick. After being her short order cook, and getting my fill of that, I quit !!!!!!! She now eats only Royal Canin 33 and Bil Jac puppy foods. I switched between them, so she doesn't get bored. She LOVES Royal Canin 33. |
Here is the thing 2 weeks after I got DEGA I found out that he was hypoglaycemic (sp). My Vet put him on a High Caloire food. Is it bad for him to be on that kinda food for along period of time. Thanks Stephanie |
MY ROSIE IS A FUSSY EATER SHE IS FOR EVER PUTTING HER NOSE UP AT ALL PUPPY FOOD WET OR DRY, TO BE HONEST IM THINKING OF TAKING HER TO THE VETS TO SEE IF THERES A REASON FOR HER NOT EATING,THOUGH SHE WILL EAT HUMAN FOOD ALL THE TIME IF SHE HAD THE CHANCE, SHES GROWING WELL AND PLAYING JUST AS LONG SO I DONT NO WHY SHE WANT EAT MUCH ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED LOVE WENDY AND ROSIE :aimeeyork |

Wendy, That is where we made the mistake with Maggie. She wouldn't eat, so I gave her human food. BAD MISTAKE. Even in all the books and the breeder's paperwork, it said human food was a BAD MISTAKE. I was stubborn, and only wanted my baby to eat. Well, she now eats like a little pig. I only put a spoonful of canned food, mixed with her dry at breakfast time. Kinda jump starts her appetite for the day. I guess it works, because after breakfast, she is waiting for her next meal. The rest of the day's meals are all RC 33 and Bil Jac. I had to do the TOUGH LOVE on my part, but it didn't take but one day. I made sure she got her Nutrical the day of starvation and TOUGH LOVE. The next day she ate the dry food like that is all she had ever had. Several members of YT told me this, and it worked. I could never have done it without the YT member support. I can only suggest it. I am very happy with the results. |

I feed SNoodles only dry dog food. I keep meaning to buy the soft food to mix with it, but keep forgetting. It is good for their teeth , also. So I just stick to it. I buy lthe chicken and also the beef, and feed a little of each per day. Right now she is eating the beef and leaving the chicken, but last week it was the opposite. Pat |
Dry food is the very best for our babies. It promotes strong, healthy teeth. The experts say that canned or wet food causes tooth rot. My neighbor feeds her Yorkie canned food, because it's teeth rotted out from canned food. So perhaps the experts are right. |
Your Right! I had my Peke on it her whole life (she just died at age 14 of cancer) and she never had to have her teeth cleaned once! I swear by it. Once in a long while, I will give her a small bit of chicken if we are somewhere and she is hungry. By that I mean on a picnic or something. Not a good idea to start feeding from the table. This Yorkie never begs, or whines when we eat, but goes to the bed in the kitchen and sleeps. GREAT! Couldn't believe it. I always said I wouldn't feed from the table, but so far this is the only time I have kept it. Pat |
