Thank you from Mickey and Yorkieshadow. Hes home. They gave him pain meds and a few other pills. Oh my goodness I did not exspect to see that big of a cut, it looks like they had removed his peepee. and the stitches are sticking out every where. he cant even stand up. he tried and bleed a little and fell over. I had to crate him to keep him from trying to walk around. They told me to give him, nutrical, pedylite and feed him his old food , because he has had nothing to eat for two days, and they need him to eat. Hes on METACAM 0.5MG/ML 15 ML once a day FAMOTIDINE 40 MG 1/2 a pill a day Baytril tablets one pill 2 x's a day.No activity for 3 days. Sutures removed and rechecked in 10 days unless I see problems. Clean and proxide on incision as needed. They sent The crystals in to see what kind they are Test done Kidney funtion test done to evaluate the ability of the kidneys to function normally, This included Blood urea nitrogen (Bun) and cretnine.a full blood panel. This test came back very low. But he said its probaly because of all thats happened. Urinary Calculi analysis sent off to have the nature of the stones and to make a recommendations on how to prevent their reoccurance. and then the crystal surgery to have all the crystals removed. Not sure what thats called. I want to thank everyone again for your sweet words, Prayers & Thoughts and donations. With Sincere Appreciation. I wish there are more people like you. I can never thank you all enough...but I will try. Thanks a million. Love Debbie and Mickey. |

Hi Debbie...I have been having computer problems on YT, so I hadn't seen your thread, but Villette informed me. I managed to get on here and read about all his problems and bless his sweet little heart, and yours too! I feel so bad for all you and Mickey have had to endure, but will be praying for him to have a speedy and full recovery with no return of those crystals. Maddie, Libby and I send get well wishes and lots of kisses to Mickey! What a scare for you! |

Debbie, I wish you strength to get through this horrible ordeal you are having to conquor. You will overcome and everyone is here with tons of good thoughts, moral support & prayers. Welcome home Mickey . Praying for a speedy recovery . |
We still have a Mickey fund going if anyone wants to help - just pm me !! And Debbie...I hope he eats today !!!! Maybe it was all the trauma causing him to not want food and today will be the day his appetite comes back. |
Omg. I just read both threads and I can hardly keep from crying here at work. I can't stand thinking of your baby in this much pain. It just breaks my heart. I'm PMing Villette right after I post this. All the best to you and your baby, lots of love! Ann |
OMG, I just read all this - I am so glad things are better!!! I went through the third bladder stone surgery with Max and this last one was tough - he had a stone lodged in his little penis, had to have it flushed out, then the surgery. He was one sick little guy for a while. I know how worried and scared you must have been. I am thinking of you and your baby and praying for a speedy recovery. (Max can act like he is dying one day and the next, a completely different dog!! - I think they recooperate faster than humans!!) Jackie |

Not much has changed , but he does look brighter eyed today. Hes paying more attention to the incesion and the thread/ stitches so im really going to have to watch so that he does not lick or bite and pull them out, they are very lose. He slept maybe three hours all night, I just stayed up with him and cat napped on the couch.and hubby was off yesterday so he was up every hour checking on him too. a few times I had to say hun dont wake him up, he would say im not, Im just checking on my little man. yesterday he was peeing dime size spots today its a little bigger and more often, he strains still and whines when he tries to go, it breaks my heart to see him hurting. I syringed water into him yesterday/ last night and this morning. but with in this last hour hes now drinking on his own. woohoo im so happy for that. hes still not wanting to eat, and this is day three, I did get a little cottage cheese in him and more nutrical, and I think hes going to come around and want to eat soon. he was just so groggy yesterday and in pain last night that I really do think hes going to eat for me today. If not I will take him back to the hospital for IV's I really cant believe the vet hospital sold me a case of the can food and then turned around cause he didnt like it and gave us a different kind, thats when I knew they must not know what kind of Crystal it is . so thats when I spoke up and told them I need to know what kind so we can match the crystal with the food he needs and they agreed, well why didnt they just do that in the first place. I had only know about the different foods for different stones through these forums. and I feel bad for the ones that dont know and the vet just sales them what ever.like they did me. Im so thankful for what ive learned through My Yorkie friends on the intenet. and I really think there should be some kind of sticky on this so people will know and not feed their yorkies the wrong prescription diet foods. and I want to thank all of you again for the good thoughts and prayers and donations. Its made me feel so much better, and just reading these post and know there are people out there that really care about my baby's and they have never even meet us. you all are wonderful . Thank you. Im sorry I cant reply to each and every post, because im a slow at typing and it would take me days. lol But I hope each and everyone of you know that we Appreciate every kind word and every prayer. Thanks for being there for us. and thank you Villette for helping us so much for your support and your time and your kind words. |
Thank you for that update. I have a feeling that he will eat for you today too :) The first few days are always hard, but he will get better. I do not understand why vets just prescribe any food either...Half the time, they don't test the stones, and I'm glad you spoke up. Good for you! Take care of yourself! |
Sounds as though he is improving some, even if just a little, that's encouraging! Bless his heart, that baby has had a rough time. Hugs to Mickey! I'll be thinking of him and hoping he eats later. |
