A THIRD Yorkie...I gotta be NUTS!!!!!! OK, so here's what happened.... I have this friend...used to be a REALLY GOOD friend, but then he fell in love, and, well, you know how those things can go... Anyway, last time my friend had a dog was when he was around 6 or 7. His father was a college professor, and they were going away for a year's sabbatical, so the dog had to be given to another family. That was his last pet. So, he gets married, and eventually they move into their first house. AHA!!! No more landlords. He can finally have a dog!!! Not knowing a really lot about different breeds, and having known my Maggie from her earliest puppyhood, he goes searching (and finds) a wee female Yorkie...brings her home, and the wife goes BALLISTIC. My friend doesn't know whether this is because she totally hates dogs (always had cats), hated the idea of not having a say in what type of dog they'd have, or hated the poor yorkie baby because it was somehow a part of his past (i.e., he knew about yorkies from me). Well, my friend could probably have returned the dog to the breeder from whom he purchased her, however, instead called me and asked if it wasn't about time that I did something about getting Maggie that sister I'd been talking about. (Actually, I did do something about that....Molly Kate joined our family just a little over a month ago.) Long story short he asked me if I wouldn't like to take his "baby" off his hands. THREE YORKIES...   !!! I don't even have Molly house trained yet. (On the other hand, I guess it won't be that much harder sitting in the yard trying to get two of them to pee and poop on command than it is with one....I know, I know...famous last words!!!) Anyway, how could I refuse???? I probably should seriously think about having my head examined!!! (She'll be arriving in about a week and a half. My friend is going to have his parents deliver the puppy when they drive through this state enroute to a conference in NY. That should be lovely! They always did like me so well...NOT! I think I'm going to (re) name her Mackenzie! Mackenzie Nicole!!! |
You are lucky. Three yorkies tell us how that goes and take pictures. I want to see them all together. Good luck. |
Congratulations! I should be so lucky! We'd love to have a tiny playmate for Jo but I don't know anyone who gives up Yorkies...just birds...and I don't want birds. |
congratulations! |
Wow, that sounds like so much fun!! You are going to be super busy now! |
Wow! Talk about luck! How exciting! I think you should name her My Exboyfriend Is Whipped! lol Congrats! |
You arent nuts!! Just yorkie nuts (like ALL of us ;)) LOL I have 3 so dont worry, its a charm :) |
Wow! You are lucky!! How could his girlfriend have acted that way? I mean if my SO brought me a yorkie I would be so thrilled as would most of us. I do not wan to meet her ! I do want to meet your new baby though...you lucky thing! |
Congrats on your new puppy. Call me crazy too, I just got my third yorkie a couple of weeks ago and it has been great. It has worked out good for me, Maddie is real laid back and doesn't like to play as much as Rudy, but Polly is a playing girl and giving Rudy a dose of his own medicine. |
WOW! Congrats you are so lucky |

Actually MEBIW is kind of unpronouncable, but if you just go with the MEIW, and pronounce it kind of like a kitten's cry..... And it would be keeping with our theme of "M" names...Maggie, Molly and MEIW! :yelrotflm Naah, I can't do that to her! One thing I do know is that she's not going to keep her present name.... Who ever heard of naming a puppy URSULA???????????? (Of course, this from the same guy who named his cat Lloyd...) |
It is so sweet that your friend thought of giving you the Yorkie - priceless gift!!!! Oh I look forward to seeing pictures of all three of them together, how cute!! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
Congrats! I am too old for more than one, but if one was offered, I know I would take it. Gazou! Can't imigine a girl that wouldn't be thrilled with a Yorkie. If my husband had surprised me with one, I would cry and never forget his gift as long as I lived. He didn't want another dog, and would not have anything to do with her for one whole day. Now he loves that dog to pieces. Says it's the best dog we ever had! Ha! Jo - Jo! I love birds! I have a Green Cheek Conure and a Blue Headed Conure (movie Polly). They make wonderful pets! Really intelligent, and hold good conversations with you! If you know anyone who wants to give birds away, I'm their woman! Ha! Pat |
Awww she obviously doesnt know what shes missing, count urself lucky :D now ull have 3 to love, cant wait to see pics of all 3 ;) |
Congrats, Lynne, on your new addition. I was cracking up with the names Ursula & Lloyd (oops! - hope that doesn't offend anyone who might have pets with those names)! I'm sure Maggie & Molly will love their new sister. Hope Mackenzie likes the flute, too!!! :D |
Wow, three. Some of us could only dream of two but, you get three! That's great you can do it. It will be fine. Best wishes! |
Congrats! :p I just got my third on May 28th. Let me tell you it's triple the fun, I have to take them out 1 and a time because i don't have a yard, i have a backyard, no grass lol.. I'm still adjusting to it, having two was a handful, now three it's  .. but when we're cuddling and playing.. it's pricless.. i'm sure it gets better down the road, just how it was when i got my 2nd baby. I'm SO happy for you! i'm waiting on me and my boyfriend to get a house so we could get another yorkie! lol :p CONGRATS! once again, i'm sure you'll have so much fun! and I want to see Pictures!! :aimeeyork |
