| Lopsided Yorkie? Hey All, Good Morning, I have a really stupid question. I got my female yorkie for Christmas and she was born Oct 3 of last year which makes her now a little over 4 months. Ok, here's the question, my husband is a truck driver and when he was last home was playing with them (also have a year old male) he says we have a very unique yorkie that she is lop-sided. Her front legs are shorter than her back legs. Is this normal? She is very very active and healthy and I got so concerned I took her to the vet to find out if she was maybe sick. I guess the vet figures that she will grow into her legs,feet...lol. Just wanting some feedback if anyone else has a lop-sided yorkie and if they stay this way or do grow into their legs...lol Thanks All, you all have been a great source of some great answers as well as concerns when questions arise about our furbabies. Also, whoever posted about the "Cowboy Magic" detangler, I have to say I finally found something that works! My male has very fine hair and always got matted easily, this product works. Take Care All Dee |

Some will correct as they mature, however some will not. As long as she is not for show/breeding that should not be an issue. It is a confirmation fault. Juzme | |

| Lopsided Yorkie Thank You for easing my mind but I did intend on breeding them and if this could be an issue of it not correcting itself than I just gave my husband a reason to maybe look into buying another female for breeding and continue lots of spoiling (no, not me...lol). I had no intention of breeding to sell yorkies, I just wanted to breed them 1 time so that I may give a couple of my family members this wonderful lots of love breed. They have all fallen in love with my 2 furbabies, but want a yorkie as a pet, but their hubbies won't let them spend lots of money on a "dog". They hubbies feel that keeping them healthy (regular vet visits), spoiling and loving is enough money to spend. I guess they could have a point but as I found out, you can't have just 1....lol. Thanks for the info Dee P.S. Kimberly, yes her back does curve up just a little. Does this mean something else? Last edited by sassyangel; 02-18-2007 at 07:30 AM. Reason: added a P.S. |

| Maybe rethink you thoughts of breeding... She sounds like a sweet little girl.....but, you may want to rethink your hopes of breeding her.....low in the front, and with a curve in her back....may be hereditary faults.... Maybe some of the experienced breeders can give you advice here......they are sooooooooooooo good at helping newbies like us... good luck |

| I have a female this same age and it does look like her back legs are longer sometimes. I think she just walks that way because when she is alerted -- like when outside and she hears a bird or another dog or I call to her -- she straightens the front legs up, with head more erect and she has a nice straight topline. Mine is also longer legged than I am used to. I think she is just at an ackward stage but time will tell. Hope both our girls turn out just fine. If not, they will still be such loving pets!

Sounds like Roach back. My Sadie has a slight Roach back. It doesn't make them sick or hurt them however, she shouldn't be bred. This could most likely be passed onto her puppies..
