That man running the place is the devil and 'what goes around comes around' so he'll get his someday for being such a dishonest man and for causing so much harm to dogs, puppies and families.
 V~Way to be persistant, and you are truely and inspiration to us all to not give up on helping to close down puppy mills!
 BDMC-hahaha, you've got a terrific point. A lot of these people that have recently piped up about their great experiences here are phoney, and seem like the same person. It's sad, but it makes it hard to know who to believe. In this case...It's doubtful these people are legit! PRobably BCK being his own fan! |

Of course there will be a lot of people ?piping? up about their great experiences at Brushy Creek Kennel. Word is out about this site and obviously there will be responses from new people. I am sure I am not the first person to defend them and probably won?t be the last. I am a legitimate person and I do plan to let more people know about this site who have purchased dogs from BCK, and who are also happy customers.
I am a former employee of Brushy Creek Kennel(BCK). I have always been aware of this website and I am here, today, to tell you some of the facts. I am also prepared for some negative responses that I will probably get by this posting. I have not been asked by anybody to post on this site, but have been reading it for quite some time and decided that I should state some facts.
I do understand those who are concerned and who may have questions. I also respect the opinions of others, but hope you can all respect my post, as well. I am not here to go on and on, bash anyone, or start a debate, because I know in my heart what is true.
With most anything, not just with BCK, the negative always seems to be the topic of discussion over the good or positive things. I am not sure why this is true, but I have noticed it with many things over the years. It is good to keep an open mind and there are two sides to every story.
In my opinion, it seems that this website is against anyone who sells or deals with more than a couple of breeds. And that is fine, but it is based on opinion and not fact. We all have our own opinions.
I do know, from personal experience with BCK, that some of the information that has been posted is completely inaccurate. So, I feel a personal need to state a few FACTS about this kennel.
Brushy Creek Kennel is definitely a kennel that sells multiple breeds. It is not a dirty or unkept kennel. Nor are the dogs neglected or in cramped living conditions. The kennel is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. There is air-conditioning for hot days and heat for the cold days. The dogs are fed well and always have clean, fresh water to drink. There are good sized runs for the dogs and separate areas for the smaller puppies to run around and play. These dogs have daily contact with those who work there, along with the contact of Mr. Moore, himself, and his family. His children absolutely adore the puppies as much as the puppies enjoy them.
Mr. Moore does not rely, soley, on the people who work for him to take care of the dogs. He is not scared to get his hands dirty and is not ?above? cleaning the kennel himself. He is in the kennel on a daily basis to oversee and assist with the care of his dogs.
I cannot give you an exact figure of the number of dogs, because it changes regularly. Being a kennel, they do have many dogs and, yes, they are ALL cared for. They do breed some of their own dogs, but the majority of their dogs are imported from other countries. They do quarantine dogs to be exported, as well.
Some of my duties while working there, along with other employees, were to clean, disinfect, scrub, and maintain the living environment of these dogs. This is not what I would consider the fun part of the job, but it had to be done. I would never let a dog live in an un-kept, dirty kennel. Cleaning the kennel was done twice a day, morning and late afternoon. I was also responsible for making sure the dogs were vaccinated and wormed according to schedule. The cost of wormers and vaccinations to keep these animals healthy was considerable. We did everything humanly possible to take the utmost care of the dogs.
Part of the reason I started working there was because I am, and always have been, a true dog lover. I loved working & caring for all these dogs. If it wasn?t for my needing medical benefits, I would still be happily employed with BCK. I would NEVER work or be involved with any business or individual that I felt did not care for their animals.
These dogs are ?cared for? by people who love animals. I have been there when SPCA came to evaluate the kennel. They highly approved BCK and said that it is a good example of a properly kept kennel.
I realize that many people do not agree with ?kennels? because they think of them as being a place where dogs are not taken care of. I know this is not true of BCK. I cannot explain why there are people who have received sick dogs. But, I do know that BCK does everything they can to keep their dogs healthy. Their intentions are to satisfy the customers and not the opposite.
I, personally, believe that this is an unfortunate and sad part of the business of selling live animals. It is also very upsetting to those of us who work so hard to care of the dogs and maintain a healthy kennel.
I have read many of the letters and Christmas cards from very happy BCK customers. There are have also been customers who returned to purchase a companion for the first dog they bought.
As clearly stated in the purchase agreement, customers have plenty of time to get the puppies checked out by a vet. BCK will also allow extra time, if needed. It also states in the purchase agreement that a customer can return and exchange a puppy, if unsatisfied with the vet check. I know that Mr. Moore stands behind his purchase agreements, because I have witnessed this.
I can also tell you that Mr. Moore is not a bad person, as some of the posts claim. If you meet him, you will find he is very friendly, quite knowledgeable, and helpful. I have seen him go out of way to help people in comprising situations. He does this out of the goodness of his heart and not out of obligation.
I support several animal rights organizations, including the Humane Society. This is where I found and adopted one of my dogs & prized possession, Buddy. My other dog, Molly, came from BCK. I have had no problems with her. She is as happy and healthy as the day I took her home.
In closure, I just want to say that I was not asked to write this and am not a fictitious person. I wrote this because I want people to know some facts and not just my opinion. I know from first hand experience that Brushy Creek Kennel is a beautiful place and well run facility.
I do hope that Mr. Moore does the interview with Fox 26, because he has a kennel to be proud of. I only hope the story is not one sided, like this site appears to be.
Thanks to Brushy Creek for giving me the opportunity to work at a place where I really enjoyed what I was doing, caring for your animals. It was much more than "just a job" to me. It was very rewarding and I loved it! I wish many of these people could have the chance walk in my shoes just to learn the truth and really know what good people you really are.
Take care!
