They gave me a fright at the vet's office!
 
I took Pepper in for the blood work before his neuter (next Tues!!) yesterday. They have a groomer at the vet and I thought he'll go for a bath and a general clean up - ears, nails etc afterwards. I left Pepper and went back to the waiting room, after a few minutes the assistant carrier the dog out - with a whole bloody leg! :eek: Seriously, it looked like he dipped his whole hind leg (up to the thigh!!) in a blod bath - and the assistant didn't even notice :mad: . I had to tell him to clean it up and maybe wrap it (how much blood did they scrape??). It was all good afterwards and Pepper seemed to forget pretty quickly whew, and started sniffing other dogs right away. Well, so much for the grooming though, I guess I'll take him someplace else.

Oh poor baby!! I know on one of Cali's blood draws for Bile Acid test they brought he out with a bandage wrap thing on and it had a soaked through some blood. But they wrapped it and told me to leave it on for a few hours.

I've been hearing a lot of bad grooming stories lately. I will be more careful in my selection. But for them to bring him out like that, they weren't paying attention. Glad he's ok.

I'm not sure if it was a bad groomer story, or a bad vet story.

I'm thinking he was bleeding after his blood draw.

Yes, he went to the vet, didn't make it to the groomer as I didn't want them to bathe him and stuff after his leg started to bleed like that (thought drawing blood in Yorkie is like a human, little pinch hmmm :rolleyes: ). Well, I just gave him a bath myself instead, but wanted his hair clipped a little before the surgery. Oh well, what can you do, I like bathing him and know noone will be as gentle with my boy

Whew! That is scary....like the first time I seen the vet asst. cut to the quick on Mojo's nail before....I bleed for along time before she even realized it, I think I was stunned.......course, it didn't last long because they had the powder. I know when Mojo had his bloodwork done, it bled for awhile too! We kept the bandage on until the next day (I'm such a freak). BUT we had him groomed really good before his neuter because we knew it would be awhile before we could do it after the neuter! Good luck to your little one!
