| Furbaby hair Hello, I am haveing alot of people tell me my Sissy hair is to thick and she does not look like a yorkie. It is very soft and thick. I want it to grow out for she can have a yorkie cut. Is there a way to thin out her hair without makeing it short. and her still look like a yorkie? does anyone have an ideal on how to get her hair cut??? sissy is sitting up

| Well, she looks all yorkie to me! If you're wanting to grow her hair out, do it. Don't let other people influence what you want to do. She's your puppy. She still has her puppy coat. When her adult coat is all grown in, it will probably still be thick (be grateful for that), but will probably be easier for you to handle. Again, she's beautiful.

| I think she's precious! She might be a cotton coat. My Sugar has a very thick coat and while it's true that it's not breed standard, I think thick coats are adorable! Don't let anyone worry you about her coat.

| Is she the one on the left? I have to admit, something about her doesn't look full-yorkie to me either (and I mean NO offense with that....people told me the same thing about Kiki too....and I AGREED with them! ) But I think a trip to the groomers to shape the hair around her face a little would really help! You can't see the rest of her body well in the pic, but again, Kiki had VERY (impossibly!) thick hair, and I finally shaved her into sort of a schnauzer cut (left legs and head long), and I have to say, she looked MUCH more "yorkie-ish" after that! But yes, I have read about people using thinning shears to cut out the bulk, and leave the length. Good luck!

| Sissy has beautiful hair. If you wanna cut it, I think she'd look so cute. And probably nice and cool.

| Misha my Maltese has a very thick coat. I have the groomer thin her out, but still kept it long. The 1st time we did this, she felt like she was a couple of pounds lighter. |

| My Nikko has a thick wavy coat. Thick coats don't make your dog any less Yorkie and I think she is adorable. I usually keep Nikko in a short puppy cut for the summer and I let him grow out in the winter. the advantage to thick coats is that they keep them nice and toasty in the winter. Whatever you decide, your pup is a cutie!!
