No but its not something Id do,Ive got a three year old daughter and I couldnt put her through that. My son is 7 and he had his ear pierced this year but he knew it would hurt and it was his choice. And if that was a clever way of saying "same thing" well i see it as more like chopping a babys finger off than ear piercing. After,piercing doesnt actually remove a limb does it. |

People usually have a choice in being cosmetically altered though,they are also asleep when it is done,I guarantee if Yorkies could talk and you said "hey, fancy having your tail lopped off,it will make you look better" they would soon have that lovely long tail tucked firmly between their legs! |

No I dont know all the facts,all I know is that it hurts,the way they squeal tells you that,its cruel enough for our country to have banned it completely, and it was only ever done for the reason of hunting,for safety. There is no reason now to practice this on any dog unless it is for health reasons. The only other reason is vanity and Im sorry if it offends you but hurting anything,human or animal when you dont have their consent just to make them look better is wrong. But untill your goverment bans it you are free to continue to dock your dogs over there so no matter how much we talk about it on here it isnt going to change anything,I couldnt do it even if I was allowed to,you will continue to dock them to make them look "better". There isnt a lot more to say other than Yorkies :number1ri and Im sure you will agree with me on that! |
Well, Autumn has her tail docked and we didn't have a choice in the matter. The breeder had done it himself when she was 3 days old and he did it too short. We have lots of problems with her stub as we call it. She is constantly digging at it and we have made numerous trips to the vet for creams and medication to help keep it getting infected. It is too short and looks like it didn't heal right. So we don't dock tails on our pups. We see no need since they aren't show dogs and we like the "natural" look. Most vain we get is bows in the hair LOLOL |
Me too,somebody on here gave me the idea of putting "manbraids" in Paddys hair! Whenever I do my hubby calls him certain names Id rather not say (joking of cause!) But I think he looks cute! |
Well, I know I won't be devastated if the practice of docking is outlawed in America. It seems a bit cruel to me, no matter what people may say. It is an issue of vanity not health and it really isn't necessary in my opinion. However, until the law in the U.S. catches up with other civilized nations it will continue to be a practice here. :( |
