What's the first thing your yorkie does when you come home? When I get home from work, Nikko is usually by the door to greet me. He is always so excited, his little tail stump wagging furiously and his little body trembling from happiness. But after he bounces on me several times he immediately runs for his favorite toy and runs back to me. He does this every day of the week. He also does this in the morning when I let him out of his crate (I lock him in the crate at night at the foot of my bed). My question is, is this a yorkie thing or a Nikko thing? Do your babies immediately grab a toy as soon as you get home? With Nikko it never fails :p |
Well Ramsey goes to work with me everyday so our first thing ritual is a little different. She rides in her crate....carrying it to the door...she literally has it rolling from side to side. She must, must, must get out and greet her daddy and skin sister. Can not do anything until they each receive their kiss quota. |
after seeing me come through the door, daisy crazily wags her tail back and forth impatiently waiting for me to let her out of her cage. once she's out, she runs around a bit, then to me, making circles around me. after she's done with that, yep, off she goes to get a toy and brings it to me. they must be thinking "mom's home! it's playtime! YAY!" ;) |
As soon as Lady hears me she goes crazy, running around and jumping she gets sooo excited its so cute to see and its funny cause my bf gets home before me and she could care less that hes home, only with me (my little love  ) she never goes for her toys always has to be at my feet. |
Murphy usually can hear my car pull up and the alarm go on therefor he will run up his stairs to his spot on the sofa and look out and see me walking up the walk way. My husband most always gets home before me so he is already running out free in the house. Than when i come in he gets so excited he almost falls off the sofa trying to get to me. I than proceed to pick him up and give him kisses (of course talking in my best baby voice possible:rolleyes: ) and he licks my face till it seems my makeup is all off. You just have to love those welcome home kisses - now if my husband was just as happy to see me - ha, ha! :) |
As soon as we get home, Zeus comes flying downstairs, up the couch to the back, and demanding kisses! He just loves to get and give kisses!! :) |
Tucker stands at the door and barks as soon as he hears my car. When I come in he goes nuts, running around, jumping up to say hi. (Usually having some excited tinkle on the floor). Then he jumps up on the couch and waits for me to sit so he can climb into my lap and give me kisses. Darn, now you are making miss him and I have 3 more hours until I can go home! |

Well, Millie can hear the garage door open, so she runs out the doggie door to greet us at the gate. I open the car window and tell her that we're home and what a sweet girl she is, then I tell her to go inside. As she runs inside, I drive the car in the garage, park and close the garage door. Millie is waiting for us at the Garage/kitchen door. I pick her up and she gives me kisses, then I hold her up to my husband and she gives him kisses, I let her down and she runs around. She will follow me around as I dump my purse, put away our lunch dishes and waiting for me to tell her it's time for our walkie-walk. I get her treats, then we head out the door to go for our walk. Sometimes I think she is excited to see us, because she has been cooped up in the house all day and she knows her walk is only minutes away! |
I will pick kelsey up let her kiss me and i'll hug her and as soon as i put her down she's looking for her favorite toy and will bring it to me.:D |

As soon as I pull into my driveway and Buttercup here's my garage opening, he starts scratching on my door and my golden starts to bark, bark, bark. As soon as I come in, Dixie (golden) squats down, Buttercup climbs on top and tries to jump on me, therefore I have to hold him for about 2 minutes then he'll leave me alone. As soon as I put him down, he runs for my son's sandals and brings it to me (means he wants me to go pick up my son) |
Well, I am told (by my husband who sometimes gets home before I do) that as I soon as they hear my car go up the long driveway, they are both barking already . . .and as soon as the garage door opens, I can certainly hear them . . .walking in through the door I am greeted by kisses from Tiger as he is not in a pen . . .Annika is barking in the background and her tail wagging on high gear  wanting to be carried and hugged, which of course I do . . .then she is as quiet as a mouse. My husband will come home and they ignore him completely . . .not a sound :D |
My dogs hear the garage door open and they run to the front window to peek out and see who it is. If it's me, they all 3 run to wait by the garage door. As I open the door, the yorkie barks, the jack russell wiggles and piddles and the chihuahua stands back and waits for me to tell her what a good girl she is. After much kissing and jumping all over me and each other, they go stand by their leashes so I know that it's time to take them for their walk. If it's my husband coming home, they all go lay back down (lol). What would I do without my babies. |

typical coming in the door: little girl is standing on the arm of the sofa barking, then jumps down runs in circles (only one direction) barking the whole time and remmie will try to calm her by playing/pushing her out of the way, then remmie sits patiently, wagging his little tail, begging to be petted!! if you bend down or pick up little girl she will kisses like she thought you were dying, remmie isnt a big kisser, yet. little girl is actually more loving since we were gone that week to TN, my mom said she waited at the corner of the fence staring at the drive way crying for the whole week, = ( poor baby, we have been giving them all the love they can take since we have been back |

Shes definately something!! |
Kali goes to work with me. But Kobe is waiting by the gate for me furiously wagging his tail and barking until he can give me kisses, kisses, & more kisses. |
Even if I'm only gone for two minutes in the other room and closed the door, Brownie showers me with kisses like she hasn't seen me in ages. She runs up and down my body super excited and wags her little stump of a tail so hard her whole bum moves.:D |
I get greeted at the door by all three. They jump, bark and Gracie spins circles in the air. It's so funny!:D |
Malibu meets me at the door super excited! I pet him a little and then go in the dining room to set my things down. He always runs in there and rolls over so I can rub him for a few minutes before he starts going crazy again! :p |
Penny is always super-excited to see us anytime we return home... even if we've only been gone minutes. Her toy routine is with my DH, though. About 10 'til 5:00 everyday she starts her watch for him, looking out the window. When she hears the garage, she runs for the nearest toy and darts to the door. It's pretty funny sometimes to see a conflict over which toy because she's so excited to get to the door... but she has to have the right toy!!! :p |
Mine shiver, shake, bark, sqweek, jump up and down, wiggle their tail, and once Bella calms down a little she will lay on her belly, then roll over so I rub her belly. Oh yeah, and Louie SMILES :D this really big smile and sneezes. LOL they are too funny arent they. |
If noone is home, she's in her crate. When we get home she's a very good little girl, and just stays put until we can get her. Which is usually right away. (I wanted her to be able to spend time in her crate without crying, so in the beginning, we never went directly to her crate but would wait a few minutes). When I go to her crate and open it, it's always the same. STRRRREEEEETTTCCCCCHHHHH, YAAAAAAAAWN and to the door as fast as her little legs will carry her (we've also always gone directly outside). She runs out back (she's usually barking with excitement at this point), pees, and then flies back to me for lots and lots of doggie kisses. If someone's home with her and she's not crated, then it's right to the doggie kisses! Oh yeah, and when my husband comes home, he has to be really careful, she'll leap onto him from the back of any piece of furniture he's near, he better be ready to catch her! |
I love these stories! Coming home is the highlight of my day because Eddie and Jack usually hear my car drive up and they jump up on the chair and peek out the front window. Jack barks hysterically. Eddie is quiet but wags his tail a million miles an hour. By the time I get to the door, Jack has leaped over to the couch, walked down the doggie steps and raced to the front door, where his raspy barking intensifies. Eddie used to run to the door also, but with the competition from Jack, he now jumps up on the back of the chair because he knows I'll pick him up the second I walk in the door. Eddie gets the first hug, then Jack, then we usually run out in the backyard to play. I love coming home. |
We hadn't had Bailey for very long when I was working away from home all day. When I came in the front door at the end of the day, this little ball of fur came flying at me at breakneck speed. I picked her up and she tried to lick my face off. After a couple of minutes, I put her down, but she wasn't having any of that - she just kept jumping up and down until I picked her up again. I sat in "my" chair and put my feet up on the ottoman. She ran up and down my legs and chest - licking my face, running down to my feet, and turning around to run back and lick my face. This is pretty much the routine now when I've been gone for any long period - like 15 minutes or more. After 5 or 10 minutes she's interested in either playing with a toy or just laying in my lap. Now THAT's why people love dogs - because they give their all in loving us! |
