Do you have vet. teeth cleanings? I'm considering taking in Jack in for a pro. cleaning but am concerned about the procedure. How often do you go in? What's the charge? But mostly I fear the anaesthesia. I keep thinking they will give him too much. I know I'm not doing a good enough job on my own, It's always like wrestling a bear when I try, so the job is incomplete. |
why dont you just brush his teeth and give him a bully stix to chew on? |
I havent done this yet but will when the vet thinks ts necessary |
Kramer I used to take my yorkie Kramer once a year for a thorough cleaning by the vet. His teeth always looked great afterwords and at 8 years old he hadn't lost any teeth. Before he turned 5 years old they didn't do the blood work up prior to surgery so it was usually about $150. Once he turned 5 and had to have the blood work up it was about $200. Well worth the cost, if it helps them to retain healthy teeth and gums. I was always allowed to pick him up that same day and he was always back to normal by the next day. |
I had Gwen's teeth clean when she was spayed and she was just fine. She lost five teeth because the people before me never took care of them. So keep on those teeth. |
Kobe is 7 yrs. old and still has all of his teeth. He gets his teeth cleaned at the vet. They recommend once a year. I cannot remember the cost. He does not have to spend the night. |
Thank you for the replies. |
Check out this product, Life for Teeth. You can also do a search and find other threads where people tell how they like it. It may eliminate vet teeth cleanings all together. They recommend once a year for cleanings, but it really depends on what type of diet yours is on. If they only eat dry food and are given bully stix to chew on they can go a lot longer in between cleanings. http://www.tobysnaturalpets.com/petz.htm |
