| Tail talk...... How do you do your Yorkie's tail? I know the long coats normally have long hair on the tail too but I wanted to show how we do the boys. We trim the tail hair in a wedge from the tip to the base. Since the top of the tail isn't shaved like it would be in a short haircut it still blends in with a longer coat. Jo's tail is a bit longer than Riley's so his looks a little different but I think they both look cute and keeping them clean isn't a problem with it trimmed this way. Keep in mind that these boys don't stay still very long so the pictures aren't the greatest but what do you think? |

| Both my girls have really short tails but I basically do the same thing. It's easier to clean with a clear "Runway" and no "Dingle Berries". I also keep the hair on the inside back legs shorter, so it doesn't get wet when they squat.

| No short tails for me andmine. That is what makes these Biewers and my Biewer/parti mix so great. But, I have always docked tails longer and will continue to do so if I breed any more standard color babies... |

| Well I keep Gucci's hair on her tail a bit longer, but I make sure the hair inside her hinds legs and close to her behind are short. I love your boys tails also. Last edited by Marie; 03-02-2006 at 07:39 PM. |

| Look at this? I took this pic a few days ago and said to myself, "Self , why the heck are you taking a picture of Baby's tail?" Now I know why!! Just to post it on this thread! Thanks for making me feel better about how neurotic I am!

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | I am SO GLAD I found this! I've just recently been looking at Abigail's tail, wondering if I should clip the hair on it. I want to let her coat grow; but, her hair is so thin it looks scraggly in places - like her tail. The wedge: you cut it shorter toward the tip or the joint?
