I became a new yorkie mom!!! My lil female puppy was born yesterday!!!!! I am so excited and now I am going to drive my family nuts til my lil baby comes home . Thanks to you guys here at yorkie talk I was able to find a breeder I actually felt very comfortable with. I knew with a lil patience I would find a breeder like her . So now all the questions begin lol. Can someone recommend a good reference book on bringing home a yorkie puppy. I already got a lot of info but I welcome all advice. thanks again everyone for all your valuable advice. sue

Yorkies for Dummies Out of all the books and info I have gathered, I found this to be the best. It is concise, easy read and gives you lots of info for yorkie owners. I highly recommend this book for all yorkie owners.

I know your happiness! I just got my yorkie about a few weeks ago. They are wonderful! It's like having a baby, so be prepared! I'm learning the hard way not researching before she came home..haha. I need to go to the babies store near by and get some things for my furniture to keep her out/off. Congrats on your new addition to your family...and we'll be here to answer any questions when your little one comes home. I'm sure you'll be full of 'em haha..

SOOO exciting! How well I remember bringing mine home. Until I was taking her outside at all hours of the night! Ha! Thought I myself had had another baby. But, it passes! Kelsey's mom! Good luck in keeping your puppy off your furniture! I tried and finally just gave uop! They are such jumpers, that I think it is impossible! If I had really good furniture, I guess one would need to cover it. Lete me know if you manage to keep her off of it. Might be a lesson for all of us! Ha! Ha! Pat

It was so funny I was hoping to get my puppy for easter (thats what my husband wanted to get me) but it worked out great cause she was born on easter and I should be able to bring her home right around my(eeks) 36th b-day. My daughter wants to name her "sparkles the girl princess" lol . I had to veto that one. I am heading out to borders book store to get some books tonight and stopping at petco to get some of her things. I also have to find a vet in my area that is used to dealing with smaller dogs. I am sooo glad I found this site cause this is really the best place to get advice. off to go shopping, sue

| Sue, I have a pretty good vet that has a lot of experience w/ toy breeds. She's not VERY close, but I think she's worth the 15 minute drive. PM me if you want the info.
