| What age did your fur kid start showing their age My little guy has been favoring his hip for a while. I took him out earlier today and the little dog next door was out. Dexter goes flying off the back deck and steps. He’s paying for it now hobbling around. Thanks

| Doesn't matter what age a pup is if they leap off a deck and injure their legs. I would have your vet check out his limping, he may be in pain. When Cody was 4 years old he was fence racing with two chihuahua's for about 30 minutes. All that activity that he wasn't use to ended up with him injuring his legs. I took him to the vet, they gave him pain killer and muscle relaxer. Last year Cody was 9, he was chasing something on the deck, dashing in and out of low steps, he ended up with a back injury, off to the vet we went.

| Absolutely. To actually answer your question (age your fur kid start showing their age). My now passed girls started showing their age around 11 to 12 years old. As humans, the older you get the more frequent Dr visits you have. Same goes for animals. I found at ages 11 and 12 years old my girls started having more medical issues.

| My girls never got grey hair from old age. Their hair never changed color period through out their entire life. Yorkies hair color changes although all my girls color never changed. Cody's on the other hand, his saddle changes colors continuously, dif. shades of dark to light grey, right now its like salt and pepper. Your neighbors pup may be turning grey due to his genes not his age

| I think Callie started showing signs of arthritis around 8 or 9 and had to go on a pain medication as needed and then after awhile it because pain medication everyday. She had Cushing towards the end though and one of the symptoms is weakness in the back legs so unsure if everything was arthritis or the cushings or a bit of both. She had LP surgery on both back legs as well as CCL surgery on them also in her life which probably caused some of her issues with arthritis.

| Thank you, Matese was a female now passed. She was 17 years old when I had to let her go. That was 8 years ago, not a day goes by that she is not in my thoughts, at least now I can remember all the good times and smile, I miss her so much.

| Those were my exact thoughts when my sweet Matese had to leave me. I had lost several and it doesn't get easier. I have had small breed dogs all my adult life, 1980 I got my first yorkie and fell totally in love with the breed. When Matese was gone I didn't know if I could live without a yorkie fur baby, but I wanted to try. The pain in my heart was so severe I truly thought I would have a heart attack, I told myself no more dogs, I can't go through this again. Well life has a way of throwing a monkey wrench in our lives. 6 weeks after Matese was gone my vet calls me, her rescue team just got a surrendered male yorkie, 2 1/2 years old. I gave here all the reasons why I didn't want another dog, she kept begging me to "just see the dog", the only way I could get her off the phone was to say ok. All my puppies were females, I knew it was safe to "just see the dog" because I knew I would never own a male dog. When I went "just to see the dog" here was this lil tyke running up to any tech that came in the room as if saying are you my new mommy. My heart just broke for this little boy, who could just throw this baby out of their life. So, home he came with me. This boy rescued me, I was in a very dark place, he bought the light back to me. I do worry "what if", I don't want Cody to have a 3rd family, so I pray every night. Cody helped me heal over the loss of Matese, he is a smart, wonderful lil boy. I was blessed when my vet thought of me when she got Cody, he is my 5th yorkie and my first perfect lil boy. So I pray every night.
