I don't use hand sanitizers. I use plain old soap and water. It's working just fine so far.

I use them in the car. Had seen the story but hadn't seen the list. Good info for when I need to buy more. Have 2 bottles now that came from when I was in Baylor Hospital so hopefully theirs are okay. Thanks for the link to the story which had the listing. GTK.

The link isn't working. I'll research it but definitely helpful if I can find it.

Hand sanitizer while I'm out and soap and water when Ive made it back home. Even before Covid I am the type to come in, shower and put on loungewear. Wash the day off is what I called it.

@lilgidget just curious do you keep soap and water in the car or wear gloves when you're out?

I pretty much stay home in my apartment. Order groceries on line, use sanitizer when I visit doctor if I go inside. Generally have to wait in car until called. My mail box is inside apartment building do I don't have to go outside. I detected a little sarcasm when you asked if I kept soap and water in the car.

@lilgidget no there was no sarcasm, I was honestly just curious. I've thought about it myself so was wondering if you had a tip on how you managed it as you said you don't use hand sanitizers. Makes sense now you use it infrequently as you aren't out a whole lot. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing Matese.

At the beginning of this my parents were using had sanitizer but stoped. My mom goes to the bathroom as soon as she comes home and my dad washes when he comes home. I can't use hand sanitizer because it burns my psoriasis so I just go to the bathroom when I get home but I have only been in the Petstore and my training place because I canít wear a mask and donít feel like being harassed. They say it doesnít transfer on surfaces like they thought and you arenít very likely to get it from surfaces.

My husband and I only go out first thing in the morning to shop for essentials during senior hours. We get to go into a newly disinfected store, and get a fresh cart. We, of course, wear mask and gloves, and have disinfecting wipes in the car. When we are done shopping, I get a fresh wipe to clean the credit card while my husband is loading the trunk. We wipe down the exterior of the car (door handles, etc.), then wipe down the steering wheel, interior and our gloves. When we get home, we have a table setup in the garage to sterilize each item as it comes out of the bag; then we put it away clean, or leave it outside for two days. We remove our shoes and spray them before we enter the house, then come in and wash our masks and change our clothes. We have a clean mask hung on the front door handle at all times so that we do not ever open the door unmasked.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but at least we can truthfully tell our adult kids who live far away and are worried enough to call and check every few days that we are doing all that we can. It has (for better or worse) gotten to be a habit by now, and although I wish we could give it all up, I just "let it go" and don't stress out.

But mask-wearing must be done to prevent droplet-spread during a pandemic, and 'harassing' as you put it is necessary to get a point across to some. This isn't just about our comfort or lack of same, it's about public safety during a pandemic. People are losing their lives, their jobs, their health insurance because of this disease and our economy is suffering and patients needing healthcare and tests are suffering if their doctor, testing center is closed or their hospitals overrun. Covid germs could be tiny enough to be aerosolized so that they float in the very air, explaining why it's so contagious. You don't have to go out among the public, you can order most things and stay home if you are uncomfortable mask-wearing and not forced to work to support yourself or a family or have an essential job.

It certainly would prevent you spreading any germs in the tiny droplets - 'droplet spread' - you emit when you speak, cough, sneeze and exhale. Mask-wearing likely protects those around you from any virus germs you may be carrying symptom-free but contagious just the same, particularly to those w/weakened immunity right then. Several health organizations studying whether it is aerosolized. Just wearing a mask when in out in public could save others from your germs. Many places open to the public won't admit anyone w/out masks and good for them! We've got to get a handle on this wild disease spread. Before long, states or the country may have to cut benefit checks, social security checks, needed services, raise taxes.

I have COPD I cannot breathe with a mask on and reason I do not go in any stores unless it's absolutely necessary. I do wear a mask and I do suffer while it's on, but I know the importance of wearing one. If a person that has this virus, if they have no symptoms they don't know they are a carrier unless they have been tested, so say this person refuses to wear mask, they sneeze or cough even speaks that virus droplets stays invisible in the air, it can drift 6 feet, I have read it can drift further then 6 feet, then droplets drift to the ground. Now here you come wearing no mask and walk through these droplets and bingo, you have the virus, that is why wearing a mask is so important. Staying away from a lot of ppl, keeping your distance is the only way we can beat spreading or catching this deadly virus.

I donít really want to get into an argument about this. The facts say masks donít work. Most hospitals are also not over run. The media is making this a circus. I have a panic disorder and asthma as well as sensory issues from my Autism so I cannít wear a mask and in Maryland the mandate says anyone with health conditions that would keep them from wearing a mask or anyone under 2 does not have to wear them period. I have a letter from both my psychiatrist and asthma doctor. I am also on disability for my panic disorder. My mental health as suffered massively from being in my house for over 5 months. There is no excuse for anyone to harass someone else let alone me without knowing my reason. There is always exceptions. I have been through this conversation with many people and it is a shame people are unable to look at how it feels to be someone else or be in someone elseís shoes. I pray everyone who canít see things from those of us with invisible disabilities never have to walk in our shoes or be us because I regular times itís hard enough but during this itís even harder. I can not explain to you how it feels and how many times I have woken up wishing I didnít and how devastating that feeling is. Again it is NEVER ok for anyone to harass anyone else!

Read my response to the post above. Also they said at the beginning that masks did not work. They also have done nothing to help in the countries where people wear face coverings on a normal bases. You have to look at the real facts and who is backing them. Itís a shame that I come here to get away from the politics and all this stuff and wham here it is, itís a shame. Iím not going to argue about masks on a yorkie forum. Everyone needs to try and look at things from the other persons shoes. I donít simply just have a breathing issue. I go into a panic attack which causes an asthma attack EVERYTIME I put one on. Due to my Autism spectrum disorder I have an extremely hard time with things on my face. Itís not that I donít like or donít want to wear the mask I canít. I have letters from doctors to prove this and am on disability due to my panic and other issues. Iím not making things up. I have also tried about 10 to 15 different masks. Even if I did go into a store Iím not talking a Walmart, target or even a grocery store but like a Petsmart. I really should not have to defend myself.
