Illegal Animal being sold in NJ(Asking advice/help from fellow NJ folks) First off-- I apologize that this is off-topic but... I didn't know where else to turn, as I feel just calling the police office would have little to no effect.. I think this is something more for animal control, but then again I am not really sure. Anyways; just saw this post on craigslist(I still get curious of craigslist occasionally and like to see photos of the sometimes cute animals on there) https://cnj.craigslist.org/pet/6091486342.html The problem of this is that monkeys are from what I just read in their online law guide or w/e that monkeys are illegal to own and are on the "potentially dangerous animals" list.... They're trying to sell a capuchin monkey and I don't think they should be in captivity by just anyone who wants one. Quite frankly, they're not something that belongs in someones care except that of a professional who actually knows what they're doing and has a secure facility to keep them in.... Animals like that could accidentally escape and cause issues, and could even be carrying illnesses if not properly cared for.. which they would then pass it on. I just don't know where to go for this kind of situation since it's rather special/unique.... I kind of want to post a screenshot, and the contact information just in case CL sees and takes it down... but I am not sure I should. I know there are people on here that currently live in NJ? Maybe you guys could help me contact the proper authorities? I admit I am rather... not so knowledgeable about things like these... Again I am sorry for this random post; but an animal like that could eventually grow up and bite a dog(or a person, or worse a child)- give it some strange illness and the dog/person/child/etc getting seriously sick... all because some special person decided it was a great idea to keep a monkey and try to sell it to random strangers.. |
