going crazy! my yorkie puppy is litterly having wild attacks! hes biting and jumping at my feet like F**king crazy!! he wont relax. and than i tell him no and try to ignore him and he then barks like crazy and growls like crazy! please help idk what is happening he is about 16 weeks old. |
Sounds like demand barking for attention. The only way to break that habit, is to ignore it. Then praise like crazy when he is quiet. If you find the problem is progressing, take him to the vet, to make sure there is no underlying physical cause for the behavior. Your last step would be getting a dog trainer. Good luck.:) Quote:

I would say you have a serious situation here--one that will undoubtedly last for several months. What you have 'happening' is P U P P Y!! This little guy needs you very, very much right now; he needs your time and attention and patience! He needs to play with you, to run around (in safe, controlled environment), and you need to go out and about together as all these things will tire him out--as well as bond him to you and bonding will make him more inclined to listen. Try given him little ice cubes to help with teething, etc. Mainly you need to interact with him, lots of positive attention and divert his biting by offering him a toy. He's a baby, he's full of play, energy, curiosity and just doesn't know what to do with himself, therefore it's up to you to help him. And you need to be fully committed, engaged and involved! The more time and attention he gets now, the better dog he'll become. Have fun, get moving with him, and he'll be ready to settle down--then enjoy snuggling with your baby! |
What Jkpal says! :dogwalk: |
I have to agree with Jkpal, sounds like a normal yorkie puppy to me, one who needs lots of play time to knock him out. Aside from several small breeds I raised 4 yorkie puppies (not all at one time lol) they were like wild indians, nipping at my heels, nippy my hands, zooming through the house, but, I LOVE that high energy in yorkie puppies. When he nips or bites tell him NO BITING and give him a toy to play with. He is still a baby at 16 weeks old, consistency and much patience is a must. Use the same command words, reward with a yummy treat when he follows the command. |
Max is 13 weeks old and is a energizer bunny in disguise! Bites my feet when he wants to play so I sit on the floor and play fetch with him. When he tires I flip him over in my arm and rub his tummy and massage his back... Out like a light for a nap! Works every time, he is a sucker for a tummy rub! |

Oh yes! A tummy rub is my go-to with Piper, as well...She'll literally stop in her tracks for one! |
