I will be a new yorkie owner very soon. Hello all! I will be a new yorkie mom soon. And wanted to get some insite of those who work and have new animals. How to take care of them and what to do first day I work. After bringing home the new furry friend. |
Hello and welcome Grats on your new baby |
Thanks just so many question running through my mine. |
What is your work schedule like? Welcome!😀 |
congrats new yorkie mom Welcome to this wonderful forum, and I can wait to see photos, and watch you puppy grow up! You made a great decision! |
Congratulations! Yorkies require patience and a lot of attention. they are worth it though! Pretty much a Yorkie will want to please you. Be loving, but firm. Potty training will probably take a while, but once they are trained, it works out. be prepared for people to stop you in the street and want to gush about your dog. |
i work 930-6 but plan to go home for lunch i live 5 mins away might even go home on my breaks. |
I would recommend that you give your Yorkie plenty of exercise before you go to work so that you will tire your puppy out before you leave. I would also recommend interactive toys that will help entertain your puppy while your away. |
My sister has a Miniture Schnauzer and she got the iPhone/iPad app called 'Dog Monitor' $3.99. They came to visit last week and I was really impressed with it. She has it on her iPad which she leaves on in a location where she can see the dog and she uses her iphone, which also has the app to watch or check in on the dog. The app can pick up all noises and also lets you know when the dog is barking or making noises. We left her dog and mine in the living room while we went out to eat and we could see what they were doing all that time. (They were both looking out the window waiting for us :) ). I am definitely getting it. Maybe I won't worry as much when I have to leave Tessa home. Ofcourse you need the devices and Internet service. :) but you probably already have a smartphone and tablet or computer. |
