| This is a tragedy! It should not have happened. I don't know if you are on the side of "aggressive behavior is learned" or "aggressive behavior is innate" but either way, I can't help but feel that owners should be held accountable for dog attacks. This is just so very sad.

| i agree it is not the animals fault if the aggression was never taken care of. that is why i feel sad for those dogs that were put down even though i feel sadder they killed that poor baby girl. if that were my dd i would never ever be able to sleep again knowing how she was taken.

| Dogs are just dogs - animals and need to be trained and taught how to behave around people and each other and then watched constantly when around non-family members and children - and why someone has that many big, powerful dogs around in a home setting when they obviously can't control them is beyond me. It just cost a human life and a family their child and the world her talents and is was a total needless tragedy. I guess when enough people finally die this way, something will happen by legislators to make the humans pay so severely that some will restrict themselves from putting themselves at liability for going to jail for a year or two - no exceptions - or something like that. But those lawmakers had better be ready to take a lot of heat from dogowners. There will be a howl from here to the moon and back when they try to restrict dog ownership to reasonable numbers for big, powerful breeds or put huge penalties on people when their dogs attack and/or kill. But something clearly needs to happen to stop this!

| I'd read that the owner of the dogs, had recently taken in a large abused dog, that she'd felt she was saving. Locals also seem to be saying the dogs, were bred (she advertised puppies on facebook) and not walked. Whatever the situation it's sad for all involved. |
