Perhaps, you just aren't ready for a forum. But, believe you me I have been on both sides of debates.... I have been "attacked" as you are calling it....(I didn't feel that way), but in the end, I have ALWAYS ended up learning SOMETHING I did not know that made me a better parent/owner to my babies. If you want to run away... Run. But, don't put blame on those offering up advise and opinions with the pups best interest at heart. |
Just a thought pookybear.....maybe you could start a social group on here. I really don't know that much about starting up a group on here but.....If you click on your name avatar it will take you to your home page ....than scroll down the right side and click on group membership join social groups....when that page comes up scroll down and on the left side it says create a new group....Then if people want to join they can check in on that. I was thinking about joining a group for a play date in my area.....Like I said it was just a thought and might be fun for you and some of the others who's little furbabies were born in Nov.... than you don't have to start diffence threads and people could join if they wanted. :) |

BTW, he's 3 months old today! |
Finally someone who is actually helpful... do you have a puppy born in Nov? Could you start a "group" as you said. I'm new and not too sure about how all this works... |
And no.... People don't normally go around attacking others unless attacked first. Pooky has come across the wrong way. I for one love to post in threads and hardly ever have a bad thing to say. In fact, it takes a lot to irritate me... I'm not sure why this particular thread got my blood heated. Maybe because the op told others they were on her ignore list or maybe because she told people to quit "hijacking" threads... I don't know!! Regardless, is it a great idea for a group to keep track of their pups who were all born around the same time?? Absolutely!! Just don't be disrespectful to others that may step in and say some things yall are discussing may or may not be good ideas!! |

It concerns members when info given isn't in the best interest of the furbabies. Especially when the thread is inviting to new members just learning how to care for their pups. |

Candy, you'll see that the OP is really obsessed with her puppy's weight. You'll notice that on her other threads all posted within days. I think it would be a GREAT idea to post a thread in the nursery section like Kendra mentioned! As a soon-to-be new puppy mom, it would be so much fun to have our kids grow together and share constant pictures with. :D And any major questions can be posted back here or in the appropriate forum. :) |
Privacy on a forum kind of defeats the purpose Kendra... And I didn't get that this thread was about weight, Maybe I missed somthing. But I think like brezo that it would just be fun to keep up with puppys close in age to mine... So we know that we are on track so to speak... I will try to find the nursery section and if anyone decides to start something up please let me know. I'm not very good at navigating this site. |

Just play around on the board for a bit and the navigation will come! |

Wow the "interruption" you are a very brave soul to cross the path of the Lecturer of all Lecturers....IMHO most of your posts are very childish so I am assuming you are very young...or just somewhat immature...let me assure you there have been others here who have tried to start new groups etc., so far none have worked out...and they end up back here....cuz YT Rocks! Woohoo! |

We could have a monthly club here maybe??? Sounds like a good idea... |
My intentions weren't to offend anyone so if I have my apologies. My intention was to say exactly what you said lynzy... Pooky (whether you agree with her opinions or not) had a really great idea. So how do we do that. I see the site has groups. Could we start a group for puppies born around the same time. I saw a post earlier about the zodiac. Mayby it could be based on the dogs sign for a particular year. I just don't know how to do it. But If there was one I would join |

I would like to add a little more info that perhaps will help you understand what happened on this thread and why so many people took offense with the OP (originally poster aka thread starter) After being on YT a while you get a feel for what's norm and what's not. When you you see posts that wave a red flag or questions many of us will do a search on the other posts made by the person in question. If you do that with this OP you will see that in the short time she has been here, less than 2 weeks she has started 14 threads, first off that is a lot for someone new, secondly once you look at the topic of each thread you will find that 9 of them are all about what size your yorkie is. Since I don't know anything about you forgive me because I might be telling you things you know about yorkies, but over the last several years there have been many breeders and buyers trying to breed and buy the smallest yorkies out there. This has been bad for the breed and lead to numerous health issues, so as a whole YT is sensitive to people trying to raise micro mini yorkies. Also regardless of who starts a thread or what the original topic is, if information posted is not accurate or could give false impressions members will speak out. I am not a health expert but I do know that YT has many members that know as much and sometimes even more than an average vet does on the care of yorkies, for this I am very grateful. You will find in time what a great group of caring people are on this site and be greatful for their advice and calling a spade a spade when needed. |

Such a nice post Donna, welcome Candy, I have been following this thread but haven't posted as I don't like to get involved in very controversial topics. Most members here are lovely but they do get very upset when they think a poor little pup or full grown dog is in any way at risk, I believe we should all be trying as best we can to do what is right for the sweet defenceless animals we take in to our homes and hopefully hearts. Some people come to this site and are rude or post things that will so obviously upset those that are devoted to the Yorkshire Terrier breed which does at times make people a little suspicious. If you read some of the other threads started by this poster there have been many posts that have given members cause to be concerned that this little one must weigh no more than 4 pounds and that food may be rationed to achieve this. You will find lots of help and support here. |
