UGH Zeus would go into Ody's litter box when we first got him and would eat his poo! GROSS!!! He finally stopped after about 6 months. Sometimes he would just drag it out and leave it in the hallway. XP!! |

Clyde would sometimes drag pieces around and then leave them there for me to clean later. |

Here is a great thread on poop eating: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-his-poop.html |

Lacey was born on December 6. She is now 2.5 lbs and is a very good girl. We are potty training and I am trying to remember how old my other Yorkie was before she was trained. She likes to chew on our hands, feet, etc. but we have a specific noise we make for no that she understands. She is a good sleeper. Sweet girl. |
Potty training Any potty training suggestions needed. Our baby Nuknuk was born in November we got him from the breeders on January 12,2013. We have been working on potty training and we need some great suggestions. |

Well My Kopper was born November 8th as well (I think I saw another with this day) and I think he takes the cake at 6 pounds on his checkup last Tuesday :) My lil porker, he is going to be the largest of the November baby group I do believe! |

I choose not to get mad at him and take responsibility for the training at this point because really it's on me. At first, when he had an accident I soaked the urine into a paper towel and set it in the yard for him to smell the next time we went out and have done this with his poo as well. I can typically tell if he needs to go out. Within 15 min of eating, after waking from a nap or all night, after hard playing. Just watch for those signs, the heavy sniffing and tail up. Lots of praise when he goes outside. Oh, it's a party! Clapping and petting and praise! I think that's the absolute key to house training or any behavior you want a pet to do, is congratulating them when they succeed. Play down the mistakes and ...give a "chich," sound warning, or one firm "no." And of course consistency :) |

He eats Royal Canin mini starter formula. I feed him 1/4 cup twice a day I cant free feed cause I would find my youngest skin baby trying to eat it I am sure!!! I already caught him trying to play in the dog water while I was getting laundry out!!! LOL |

You feed them between 2-4% of their body weight divide for 3 meals day. It's his introduction day so today he's eating part of a chicken leg with bone. Suppose to be 80% meat 10 % bone 10% organs.(5% liver 5%other organs). There's not an exact science to it but this works. I'm going to make him frozen cubes with seasonal raw fruit & veggies, raw egg, & natural unsweented yogurt and probaby a sardine....But 1st we'll start with the chicken. So far no loose stools so it didn't upset his system. :). It's about a TBS a day! Here's more info about raw DogAware.com Articles: Homemade Raw Diets for Dogs |
His first meal should not be with bone... That really should come a little later because of his gum muscle and teeth. |
Our little Dakota was born Nov. 23rd. He weighed 2 pounds 8.75 ounces at 12 weeks. Our Bella was born Oct. 28th. and she weighed 3 pounds 1 Oz. at hoer 15 . week appointment |

You are going to starve your puppy and not give him a chance to grow and thrive if you are only feeding him 2-4% of his current weight! Growing puppies need up to 10% of their body weight when raw fed in order to grow healthy and strong. Also, be careful of which bones you give at this young age. Personally, I would stick with the small bones of chicken only. |
MaryKay I absolutely overlooked that! YES!! 10% is a must!! Please, please do more research and consult with a nutritionist before you continue. If there are no nutritionist in your area, there are many online that will gladly help you and work on menu with you. :) |
Ideally, it should be something smaller than a chicken. Like quail. But if they don't have anything like that then the wing tip and forearm, not the whole wing (the upper arm/big thick part that connects to the body) is too thick for a puppy of Pooky's size. Do you have any quail or quail sized chicken you can get a hold of? |
