| ![]() I got Max snipped at 6 months to the day. He is now a month and a half shy of two years old and still squats to pee. Sometimes when we are outside he will lift he leg in the air and pee, but not on anything. He sort of looks at my like "I can do this, right?" He squats when he uses the pee pads in the house. My friend has a mini-dashuand and she put a little fire hydrant on the pee pad and her dog lifts his leg on that. (he was not fixed until he was adopted and about 3 years old.) |

OMG...how cute! What a great idea! Brody will occasionally use a puddle pad indoors, but it's never been a problem due to the little stance he takes...he seems to know all four feet must be on the pad, too. I've seen some with just the front two paws on the pad, peeing on the floor... ![]()

| ![]() My female yorkies half squat-half leg lift. My Golden used to leg lift but since I got him neutered he mostly squats! He has never peed on himself though.

| ![]() Turbo got neutered @ 6 months, still squats sometimes & he learned to lift from Momo. They do sometimes get urine on their side & upper leg hairs, so I have to keep the hair trimmed. I used to have pee strings on the boys, but shaved them completely off bc too much urine was staying on it & getting on the sheets on my bed. ![]() ![]() As for clothes, I always buy shirts that have a 6" bottom max, anything longer, it will get soiled. The boys have a 8" length, so I'm guessing 2" shorter will do. We live in a condo, no yard, so we have potty areas in both bathrooms (upstairs & downstairs). I wrap water bottles w/pee paper & the boys use them as markers. I didn't even have to teach them to go there, they just naturally used it. I also prop the pee pad to go partially up the wall to protect it, but after propping up the water bottles, have not had a problem. We use washable pads w/paper pee pad on the bottom for added protection. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Tibbe has always squatted and occasionally he would squat and lift his leg rarely but when he got to be about 4 1/2, he squats and then out flies his right leg really fast and then he pees. I don't know how a male pees on itself due to the way they are made with the penis slanted at a downward angle from the body. Maybe the pee'er- on-himself had long hair on his belly and that was wet or was wearing a diaper/belly band or something that mashed his penis up - or he pee'd while lying down. Tibbe detests clothes so I don't know what happens with clothed, peeing males.

| ![]() Jack does both but mostly now he lifts his leg. He has soiled his t-shirts in the past (before I realized they were a bit big and hung down on him) so if he is wearing one of his tees, we will roll it up so its "outta the way." He does have the cutest little Browns jersey (no judging allowed ![]()

| ![]() Troy is outdoor trained. He lifts and squats. He is 3 years old. I do put t-shirts or sweaters on him and I can say that I have to make sure the clothes have that little dip in them so that the pee stream can't reach. Troy doesn't really pee on himself.
