How Lucy can live on Dang it hurts to lose a fur baby. Losing my baby girl has just cut me to the soul and shredded my heart to pieces. I need to know that my dear Lucy will live on in some small way, so this is what I've done. First, I made a donation in her memory to Yorkie Haven Rescue. I ask Linda (Ladyjane) to put the money towards defraying the cost of helping a senior pup find their "furever home". That way, Lucy can pay it forward, and another sweet baby will have the chance to live out their sunset days, safe and loved. I also made a donation to Yorkie Talk. You all know that they need to upgrade their server. Yorkie Talk, (and everyone here) helped me to learn how to be a good mommy to my sweet girl. I ask questions, got advice, and read until my eyes were crossed. I've made friends, shared laughter and pictures, and now, I've been loved and comforted by so many here. I want Yorkie Talk to continue as a place where others can be welcomed, educated, share their happiness, and their tears. I want a place to be here where we can love on each other, and our precious fur babies. I made the donation in Lucy's name, but it is a "thank you" to each and everyone of you here who has loved us on our journey. I want Lucy to live on each time a new friend joins Yorkie Talk, just like we did, 22 months ago. In some small way I just wanted to say "thank you all" for being there for me- and for my sweet Lucy. :angelyork |

Those are sweet and loving gestures for Lucy. I know she is proud of you, Mommie. |
Beautifully said. I agree wholeheartedly. I know I often look back over old YT threads to see what I wrote about the ones I've lost and see their smiling faces in happier times. It's comforting to know those memories are preserved. |
Oh my, look at that sweet adorable little face. I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain and its terrible. What you are doing in Lucy's memory is wonderful. RIP sweet baby girl. |

ahhhhh Kim what a nice and fitting tribute to Lucy. |
It is truly amazing how fast these girls cans steal our hearts and how even after a couple years they can break them so much by passing on. I am so sorry you have had to go through this, and love the way you have chosen for her to be remembered. |
Thanks for all the love, guys. I am believing that each day will be a little bit better. |

Kim I am so very sorry for your loss |
So sorry to hear of your loss. These little guys grab a piece of our hearts from day one and never let go. What a wonderful way to celebrate Lucy's life. I lost my little Poppy March 2009 and still get upset when I think about her. I donated all of her things (except her booda hippo - that toy I had to keep and have it by her picture) to the local dog rescue. Yes, I cried all the way home, then cried when I walked in the door and her travel crate was not by the wall, then cried when I walked in the bedroom and her ramp was gone, then cried myself to sleep. I ordered a memorial rock and put it in the backyard in her favorite spot. A large river rock with her name and dates on it. Now I smile every time I see it - she loved that spot. When I got Max and Abby (Poppy left big paws to fill, so I had to get two!) the first thing they did when we went in the yard was to go and stand on the stone. (Every one asked if they peed on it - no, they just stand on it from time to time.) These little guys bring so much joy to our lives. It was very thoughtful of you to help bring joy to someone else's life. |
